My current level of skill is fairly basic, I've completed several uni courses in programming and have spent a lot of my free time in years passed working on gaming emulators(clients & servers). My most recent project was a remote administration tool with a web interface. As for languages Java/C/C++
I was actually considering a irc like chat program before starting this topic although I was thinking more like a msn alternative than irc so I am considering this, just open to other ideas too.
