Pictures can speak one-thousand words.
I think the crowd this year was around 40-50k, might be wrong though.

It seemed smaller than previous years. Wasn't the alltime high > 100k? Was that SKT v. KTF?

Idk, but either way, that's still a massive crowd!

Looks like alot of people to me, so close to the water as well. The bridge looks lovely.

I'm glad there was a decent turn out - the location they picked for Busan was gorgeous. I wish we'd had more time to play about on that beach last year ;_;

Yeah, but it was SKT vs KTF during the golden age of both teams

If CJ advanced instead of Oz (IM SORRY OZ FANS) I am pretty sure the crowd would've been much much much much bigger

Yeah, but before, a proleague season took less than 4 months, there's been around 14 MSLs and OSLs already.

These are only the ones that have been held at Kwang An Ri (the place it was held yesterday).
Kwang An Ri is known as the "holy land" of e-Sports in Korea.

Well, according to others there was a pretty bad storm just the day before. So I guess that somewhat explains it. :/

And also, the first day didn't really matter as the second day would determine the winner. So I guess 40k isn't too bad since Samsung vs OGN only had 30k.

Why is it considered that? Is that where e-Sports first started or something?

mmm 40k of people its a lot IMO... wow thats a lot... really... on my country when the chilean team plays against another country its like 60k of people... and thats the most popular sport here, u have to think also that only 20k could see something. the rest just have to look at the screens lol

That is mind boggling. Fantastic to see SC attracts this kind of crowd.

there was a possibility of the finals being delayed due to some warning about a hurricane/typhoon, it was raining like hell on Thursday, rained like hell in the first half of Friday, and light sprinkling on Saturday night, they started handing out those cheap plastic raincoats because of that haha

Weather definitely had impact, and so did the day chosen for Day 1 (Friday)

40k seems like a pretty respectable number, I guess, but nothing like the 120k from a few years ago. It would've been great to see a bit higher, but at least it's an improvement from last year. I feel like Starcraft is unfortunately missing the sort of "drama" and rivalries that it had a few years ago and now it's starting to show in the numbers.

What about Jaedong vs Bisu, Jaedong vs Fantasy, Jaedong vs Flash, Jaedong vs Effort, etc...? jk

I can't believe that 120k people actually went to the same match, how the hell did they set that up so everyone could even see anything?

Just so hard to believe that that many people would show up for something like this. You have to consider that a good portion of the people coming may have never even played SC before.

I doubt it. Three channels devoted to starcraft? I am sure almost every korean native knows about starcraft.

Considering the typhoon that dumped a billion liters of water on Asia the last three days, they did pretty well. That 120k number was always suspicious to me imo. Also, it is considered teh "holy land" because esports is working hard to create mystique and history.
