To be honest, it would've been more drama-tastic if he hadn't been banned.
It took me a while to find the website the original picture was on.
Also, through more extensive digging, I found the original picture creator's name. She's female.

Because people for some reason weren't convinced that it was a recolored rapidash, so I google image searched (with safe search on!) rapidash, trying to show that rapidash actually looked like that. To be honest, I wasn't expecting to find the exact picture, just something that looked pretty similar so I could say he just drew a rapidash and recolored it. Wasn't expecting it to be some other person's drawing that he ripped off. I didn't actually have to go through many pages. It was certainly before page 6 of results, though I don't remember exactly where it showed up.

Im confused... Winning submitted that tshirt, NukemDuke got banned because he went off about Winning getting DQed from the contest (for posting on 4chan to get votes)
Kennigit later talked to Winning on ventrilo and was convinced that Winning did not post on 4chan himself.
But since it looks like Winning copied this shirt design, looks like he should have been DQ'ed anyways. Also, he may have been lying about not posting on 4chan as well.
edit: or maybe NukemDuke posted on 4chan under Winning's ID which would explain why he was so angry about it. Probably was a troll attempt gone wrong :p

Although seriously, if someone responds at stimey-levels to "censorship" of someone else's ill-gotten poll results, then well, he seriously deserves to be banned as well.

Well I pointed out in the news thread that he clearly just took the image of Rapidash and edited the flames a little, but I would have never thought that he just stole the whole picture. That is just low... >.>

The horn, mouse, feet, etc, are all the same. And I mean, what other horse has flames coming out of the back of its feet? I was actually thinking about making a blog about this but he was banned like 5 minutes after I posted it so I thought it would just be beating a dead horse (literally?).

i think it was winning pretty handedly before it was dqed and the poll was called off.
i'm pretty sure even if nobody had noticed the 4chan thing or the picture stealing thing if that picture won the mods would have shot it down pretty hardcore lol (good riddance imo)

I think banning someone for taking advantage of the voting system is yet another example of a certain mod's abuse of power. It was the mods own fault for creating a system that was open to abuse in the first, and it's extremely hypocritical to ban someone for doing something teamliquid used to do regularly (take advantage of voting systems).

It's in the principle. Sure, TL sways votes for contests and stuff all the time, however this is mostly for something worthwhile (charity, someone who really deserves to win, etc). But this guy flat out did it with malicious intent - "If my shirt won it would make a lot of people mad". He entered the contest just to piss people off/get a laugh.
And besides, would you really want to buy/wear that shirt?

What gives you this impression that we should be impartial and without motive? If someone comes on here and asks to have his girlfriend's model shot bumped up and a competition was set up specifically for that then great. The purposes of those sites and contests are to drive traffic in general. We all go to the site, half the time we sign up for some bullshit and the sponsor goes "oh gee golly look at these numbers!". We had a vote so that you could actually have a legitimate voice rather than 4 staff members going "yeah this is the shirt".
If you think it's an abuse of power to ban someone who plagiarized then i don't really care.
Are you suggesting that because other sites didn't pull their votes when people flooded their site that we shouldn't do the same?

This guy was on vent the other day talking with Kennigit saying he didn't post it, and didn't even know what 4chan was. I thought it was pretty obvious at that point he did it and this makes it even funnier and more proof that he did it cause he said "I honestly drew the shirt real fast and just expected to get like 2nd or 3rd place, I didn't think I would win or anything".
