I have to admit, I am a sporadic reader of tlnet, so I miss a lot of threads... But it seems I see so many about SNSD or Wonder Girls. I can't say I'm too familiar with Korean music (more into Japanese myself), but where's the love for OTHER Korean music artists?
And before I go any further, don't jump down my throat for bashing SNSD, because I'm not. I've heard a couple songs, and I admit the girls are cute and the songs are catchy...
But I mean, c'mon! Look at BoA. She's hot, she can sing, and she's can fawkin' dance. She's been named the most influential asian artist. Heck, the SC map Azalea was named after one of her songs! I don't know, I've been really into her music lately. She makes meh wet.

yep BoA is definitely better. I really do like her singing, dancing and looks.
However her recent releases (English) isnt really that great. Her english accent is annoying as hell. Her MV is wtf. I actually feel relief listening Utada's english songs right after BoA.
Honestly I don't think she's hot, and I also don't think any members of SNSD are hot. SNSD's music is horrible, but lately I've realized that BoA is actually pretty good. I haven't listened to any of her music since Atlantis Princess, but anything up to that has been pretty good for Kpop.
I like BoA, but I prefer Hyori for some reason. Which Japanese artists do you like? I'm a fan of Salyu, Yui, some visual Kei groups and former visual Kei like Gackt. I also like me some trashy euro-beat style pop such as Attack All Around.
She really needs to stick to Asia and not try the US market. I just don't think her style translates, and with a slight accent, it makes it kinda unbearable.

what i think of boa as well. her english songs are HORRIBLE. she tries to copy the ,i don't know what it's called, but that fake computerized voice just like the mainstream music in the US and it does not work out at all. plus the lyrics are horrible as well.
I think it is called auto-tune. Koreans should just stick to singing in Korean. Her voice and her songs are really good; in her recent attempt to go mainstream in America, she really butchered both. It's really a shame because she is really talented in my opinion.
Yeahhhh, her American stuff is trash in comparison. I don't count it. I don't really count any of Utada's songs from Exodus except Kremlin Dust and maybe 1 or 2 others. Well, BoA's English has improved dramatically if anyone else noticed. So, I won't bash her on that.

Blimey - another Back Horn fan I used to be really into Dir En Grey a few years ago, but I don't like the whole VK fandom atmosphere - it's a bit scary/lame.

Boa's a Nob 86 and I'm an Apr 86 ^^. I remember her when she released her first album and it was really awesome. The only people that would hate her is... Jessica H.O. lol. SM actually did a really good job with her, wish they could do the same with their other talents, i.e. CSJH but whatever. My biggest pet peeve against SM is that the more talented singers aren't getting the Korean success that they should have (Zhang Yi Lin, CSJH, etc) Her recent best one I think:
Wow, I can't stop listening to this song. Thanks for posting that. I used to listen to BoA alot, but somewhere along the line I stopped (along with kpop and jpop altogether), but this is a nice change. I actually prefer her Japanese songs.
