I underwent surgery three days ago because I had trouble breathing through my nose. Now I am at home and supposed to basically do nothing, because my nose is still swollen and I can only breath through my mouth (which lead to interesting experiences when I tried to eat for the first time after the surgery). I have a headache and feel constantly dizzy, sick and extremely bored, because playing anything remotely competititve does not go well with my current condition. This may last for three to seven days.

So yeah, any ideas how I could spend my time somewhat useful? I appreciate the input.

I'd probably find a series of tv programs that I've always wanted to watch (for example I'm finally working my way through 24) and start watching them. Or catch up on some reading.

EDIT: Or find a single player game you always wanted to play but never got around to.

Play the old DOS game "blood" and experience the classic lines "i live..... again!" and "I like my hands....bloody" in the original sound blaster style quality. god that game owns.

I smashed my nose on ice when I was younger, and am pretty sure I have a deviated septum. I'm very prone to bloody noses in the left nostril, have little to no breathing in it, and it gets really stuffy =(.

I have allergies, but not in same sense that most people do - the only major symptom is that the inner membranes in my nose are almost always slightly swollen. The result is that if I go running that my ears get really clogged. It's also a mild annoyance most of the time.

The connection though, is that one of the allergists I've seen noted that I had a slightly deviated septum. What he wanted to do (since he was also a practicing surgeon) was to perform the procedure you had. I outright refused since I thought it was overkill and in the end wouldn't make a difference.

Every other allergist I've seen since have all agreed that the procedure would have done nothing/little. I wonder if the procedure is just to make a quick buck.
