Tomorrow is the day, that forever she will be away. I will be speaking at her funeral, and I have to write something, but it's just so much to write. I don't even know where to start. I think I just might write a poem; but I don't even know where to start. So I was wondering if you guys had any poems that talk about their mothers dying, or being dead. I need some inspiration. As soon as I am done writing it, I'll post it on here.

I think this is all up to you. The emotions evoked by the loss of your mother are unique only to you, and some "advice" from us would make it ungenuine imo. Gl~

normally for just about any1 else i would say to write a speech beforehand. but for someone u truely hold dearest to your heart like a mother, just say wht your hearts tells u to.

When I spoke at my mom's funeral I just said a few short words about what she meant to me (it was kind of a blur so I'm not sure exactly what I said) and then a prayer. The only advice I can give is just say whatever you feel, you're not obligated to say something deep or emotionally impacting. Nobody's going to judge you so don't be worried or nervous about it.

Also, I really don't mean to sound negative here, but from personal experience and from how I've seen others speak, it's going to be difficult to keep your composure up there and if you end up trying to recite a poem or pre-written speech you're going to have difficulty getting through it.

Edit: and after this is all through try to spend as much time as you can with friends and family and just get out more. I spent the first few weeks after my mom's death almost purely in my room and I didn't really get over it until I started getting out. I'm sorry for your loss, and I hope you and your family get through it alright.

I recently spoke at my grandmother's funeral, as did my father and brother. I think it would be good to focus on the ways that your mother impacted your life. That's what I talked about and I think it really helped us all, knowing that our loved ones did some god in the world, you know?

I'm really truly sorry for your loss.

to answer this question I had to think from kind of first person so its a little specific

tell a story about a time she helped you that demonstrates what kind of person she was and how she changed your life. you can cry or whatever, as long as you honestly recount it. bottle it up and keep it in your heart the rest of your life

then look at the sky and tell her you love her
