I won't say I've seen and done everything when it comes to sex/masturbation, but I have done a lot of different things. Everything from not masturbating / not watching porn at all to both habitually having sex and masturbating with and without porn. I don't recommend not masturbating at all, it makes you uptight. But, I also don't recommend getting addicted to porn, it will steal a lot of your time. Masturbating too much, moreover, can make you lethargic. It's good to have a little bit of pressure from sperm production (but not too much, which is where a little bit of masturbation comes in). The process also helps you figure out what turns you on, which will be helpful in later relationships. If you're already not sexually aware of yourself it's hard to communicate that to someone else. You can't be careless with what's going on in your mind, though. If you set the bar too high, you'll never find a partner who can fulfill your fantasies. Sexual fantasies are just fantasies, they're not real, and you should never expect them to ever become real, or get disappointed with the real thing. As for that, I do recommend a partner. Masturbation is okay if you're single, but sex is much, much better. There's not even a contest. I masturbate rarely, and watch porn rarely, and that's because I have a partner who I'm active with. The only situations it ever crosses my mind that I'd like solo time is when our schedules don't overlap well, such as when she has to go out of town. The rest of the time, she keeps me satisfied. This lowered consumption of porn is nice because I'm not tempted to compared her to anyone else, and my focus is on our actual sex life rather than an imaginary one. To answer the OP's question, porn can absolutely be addicting. A lot of things are (drugs, starcraft, gambling). Anything that you let take over your life, some more likely or harmful than others (starcraft doesn't cost money like gambling). Porn is a prime candidate for addiction / time-wasting. | ||
