Total buzz kill. But what I have seen of the film kicks ass.

Moss Roberts has a good translation up, as well as an abridged version. While the Three Kingdoms contains oriental context, Roberts does a good job with footnoting cultural aspects of the novel for Westerners. Drawback though, I utterly despise the Wade-Giles romanization for Mandarin names.

Great movie, I definitely recommend to anyone who's remotely interested in war movies or strategy in general. PS: I download movies etc... but this is the kind of movie you'd want to watch on a large screen with some great sound. If you've got that at home and can find a dvdrip then go ahead, but don't ruin the movie for yourself by watching it on a crappy laptop screen, or with 2.0 speakers, or in a sloppy divx quality.

They should have gone for a more realistc approach, but those fighting scenes were really entertaining! I didn't watch it but how overstrengthen the generals? I don't really know about military psychology, but if I was facing a legendary general as a lowly footsoldier I would be pretty scared. And as the book said, "a clear path was made wherever ______ swept through".
