Thing was, right above the bananas it said "$1.79 per lbs" which means it should have costed more ... stupid cashier MUAHAHAH! But yes, I went to Moxies and before I used to get full off one of their pastas, now I need like 2 to be full and I swear like when I went to Moxies the first time it opened (when the serving was bigger) it was cheaper ...

I don't eat out at sit-down restaurants that often, but I haven't noticed a difference.

I could barely eat down half a plate of the regular servings over in Boston. I swear, if they halved their servings, they could solve the world's food problems. >.>

or you eat at an incredibly upscale 150/ea prix fixe type place. Anything in between is really pointless imo as you can just make your own food and have it be just as good and probably healthier + cheaper. ._.

but it is true that americans get wayyyy too much food compared to what we should be getting. thats why i stopped eating out/ eat only 1/2 of the food given.

I don't want to pay for half of the food that I eat, I used to eat about a year ago. Then later on the year pay even more to eat half of this half. Like and example, Ruby Tuesday. I used to eat the Penne Shrimp Pasta that was in a huge bowl that you would get full from it easier, and now it's in a horizontal plate and I didn't even get full when finishing it. Same goes for Chili's, Outback, Alehouse and the rest of these damn places. Give me your thoughts on this situation, and screw that whole "economy sucks." I don't give a fuck about that. If I'm paying 13-15$ for food I should be getting a good amount. eating less has worked wonders for you

I used to play WoW with a guy who moved from Canada to the US while we knew him, and one night on Vent we talked about differences he'd noticed between the two countries. One of the first things he mentioned was how ridiculous the amount of food served in restaurants here was; even big international chains like McDonalds serve far less food in Canada than they do in the US.

the very upscale places do serve very little food (counted literally 8 pasta .. thingies? in one serving. EIGHT. you know as opposed to like normal servings where it's too many to count). of course the food is a pleasure to eat, it's delicious and the atmosphere is unbeatable. i walk away hungry though and a significantly lighter wallet so *shrug*. hasn't changed much imo the regular 'asian' restaurants around here still give pretty decent portions (ymmv), but the 'western' ones too little imo now. i usually have to get like an extra bowl of soup or something to feel full in those i haven't been to fastfood places in years, aside from subway, so dunno if anything changed in those. i used to love bigmac though, was like 5 bucks or something with fries/drink/tax. 5.17 maybe? something like that

I disagree, I have eaten at every type of restaurant from bars to Michelin star restaurants. If I had steered away from everything in between I would have missed out on so many great food experiences, also I rarely find food on upscale places to be that much tastier than food from more normal places. Note that I am talking about local owned restaurants, not fast food chains.
