Okay, so maybe the Obsidian Drake isn't a crazy unit like the Great Destroyer or Bone Golem, but his completion is significant anyways because;
He's one of the last units needed for the mod's unit list to be finalized. He's the primary air power in the high tier waves with a 75-damage massive splash special attack and a 35 damage normal attack, with fairly quick attack speed.
With the Obsidian Drake functional, only the Tiamat and the Ghost Dragon remain to be completed. The Tiamat's model was started on by my friend and the Ghost Dragon just needs projectiles.
Meanwhile I've been hunting down sounds to use. I might start asking around for a decent female voice actor to voice the Fallen Hero very soon. I have a few sounds I can use for Zeus. That just leaves it up to me to voice act Mal`Ash sometime soon.
Speaking of voices, here's a sample of the Great Destroyer's voice acting that I did a while ago. It'll be amongst the last voice acting I'll ever do as Schizophrenia has destroyed my ability to concentrate and act.

All is not fun and games, however. There is currently a killer crash in the mod that occurs in late-game. The extremely obscure nature of this crash is making it impossible for me to find out what it actually is. I won't release the mod, no matter how complete, until the crash is solved.
Assuming the crash is solved, the mod could be out in a few weeks. I'm waiting on the completion of the Tiamat and then I need to polish a lot of stuff, create a lot of extra content (engine glows for the Purgatory & Juggernaut, for example), and complete all of the sounds.
Now, while I don't imagine anyone at TL really understands SC modding, AO is going to shatter a ton of boundaries modders see in the game. In addition to the limit expander I mentioned earlier, which enables the mod to have hundreds to thousands of projectiles active at once, there's something else that has been in the works for a while. It's called an iscript expander, and it will utterly shatter the boundaries of starcraft forever and completely revolutionize what people expect out of SC mods.
Allow me to explain.
The iscript is to starcraft is what models and animations are to 3d games. Starcraft, being sprite-based, needs something that controls how the sprites work. Enter the iscript; the single most powerful file in all of Starcraft. Ever wonder how the Zealot hits twice, how the Zergling has variable movement speed, and other such things that are impossible inside games like warcraft 3? It's all thanks to the iscript.bin. But the iscript.bin is limited to 65kb in size, and when you're dealing with massive sprites like those I use from diablo 2 and infinity engine games, some as large as 1500 frames (The marine averages around 240 iirc), you end up cutting it pretty close.
The iscript expander will push the size limit of the iscript.bin to 4gb. Way more than I'll ever use, and opens up the opportunity for some pretty insane effects.
A lot of the stuff you're seeing in Armageddon Onslaught, such as randomized attack patterns with linked animations and weapons, is virtually impossible inside Warcraft 3 while other things are doable, just with a retarded amount of JASS work that leaves a lot to be desired in terms of mod support and performance. I fully expect a lot of it to be impossible inside SC2 as well.
The expander is still a work in progress and it's not for certain if it will work. It functions correctly but it also introduces some odd bugs that we're trying to work out. If it does work, however, it will be huge. I originally discontinued Armageddon Onslaught over a year ago when I discovered the iscript limit, only returning to the project very recently and having to cut a lot of my original plans short. Now, with the project nearing completion, some of the original vision may yet make it in.

Hmm. What is there to know? I'm 21 years old, and I started having serious motivation/concentration issues after I dropped out of school about 6-7 years ago. Since then it has gotten increasingly worse and sprouted a bunch of other nasty stuff, like massive anxiety attacks ect. Really there is so much to say I'm not sure if anyone would care to read it.
I'm olanzapine now but all it really does is make me sleepy. :\

Your project looks sweet, I didn't think there was that much modding possibilities regarding starcraft.
Kinda makes me wish someone would make a quite highspeed(as in game speed) Warcraft 2 remake(possibly also with additional stuff) with improved spirtes that have similar quality as in OP pic.

Oh, I see. I don't know, people with mental disorders just interest me..

just looked at some of the older videos of this in your blog - pretty neat looking stuff. keep us updated. i'm not sure i've grasped the concept fully but whatever, ill look over your blog more thoroughly and get it.
despite my ignorance, i have one thing to recommend: faster! the units in the videos look slow (although very pretty)! if this is the point, why? again, sorry if this is obvious

Hmm. Not sure what you mean. The Adjucator can destroy a group of bc's in seconds. If it moved too fast, there'd be no hope of killing it. The Great Destroy teleports instantly across the map, Bone Golems and Devils also long distances extremely quick, ect.
Most of the units are very large and don't seem to move terribly fast but their movement speed is typically average or above average. There is a decent mix of fast and slow units. They're going to be controlled by the computer, anyway. At which point they seem fast enough when you are fighting them.
The ships will have a jump drive ability eventually that'll allow them to cross large distances like the Devil/Bone Golem.

Dozens of things that other modders thought impossible. AO is a proof of concept and a technical demonstration.
