For instance, a road with fairly low volume which has absolutely no pedestrian crossings built into it can be a reasonable place to jaywalk, provided you aren't dumb about it. You just have to wait until you are sure there are no cars coming (and you need good visibility to do this). I used to do that myself to get to work, and I never once had even a slight problem. The situation in the OP was not like this, however. It was a busy road so he unfortunately needed to find a good way around (but this can be a real pain in the ass). | ||
