Can I just start by saying I really would appreciate if people don't take the piss here.
Some of you guys know I have an internet relationship with Mischy. Well I went over to the USA and I'm here now, and it was going fine until I discovered some stuff on her computer. Chat logs from msn where she had been having, it seems, pretty fucked up conversations (sexual etc) with at least two guys from my country.
I was completely horrified and in fact so is she. At first well I thought you've done what is basically cheating in an internet relationship, so I'm off home. However she is scarily convinced that she DIDN'T take part in those conversations. She is in tears the whole time and even her parents say she must be serious- she has never cried in front of them before.
What's worst is that one of the guys was my best friend.
Regardless, I'm not a vengeful or spiteful person. I just need to know should I get the hell out of this relationship or can she be telling the truth.
I've decided that probably one of three things is going on:
a) Michelle did have those conversations, and is lying
b) Michelle did have those conversations, but has repressed them and convinced herself that she is telling the truth
c) Michelle was targeted by a friend in a rather destructive act of ongoing maliciousness.
Now my parents are telling me that it's certain I should get out of this relationship. And I'm pretty certain I should too. The only thing keeping me here is how hysterical Michelle is about it. A friend of hers called up and confessed to having the conversations. However, I just didn't believe it. It sounded like she didn't really have an idea of what had happened, and that she had been somehow put up to it by Michelle or her friends.
So basically the first question I have to you guys is:
There were webcam convos my best friend admitted too (btw he is now completely out of my life forever).
Is there ANY technology out there which lets a person feed captured video of a webcam into MSN, to make it look like it's someone else...and is there any way to program reactions into that???
And the second question is:
What should I do? Lie detector tests? (Plz for god's sake don't say Maury lol) Trust her? GTFO?

How did you 'discover' them? Honestly if I had chat logs on my computer, the odds of anyone ever finding them are pretty much 0. What were you doing?
Also, you don't really need a lie detector test if you know what sign she is.

I have to say go with your gut feeling, since that way you won't have any regrets. But I don't think internet dating is a good way to get to know a person, I think you should try dating girls near where you live if possible.

read the chat logs carefully, you should be able to tell if it was her or an imposter. look at the timestamps, was she around at those times? do some detective work and try figure out if shes telling the truth or not.

So, cut your losses and don't stay in a relationship where you start feeling paranoid every time you're away from her. It doesn't matter if she did or didn't do this. I think you have trust issues and, justified or not, they will tear this relationship apart now that you have something that you think she did always in the back of your mind.

If she's that hysterical I would say forgive her. But if you go down that route make sure you actually _forgive_ her, otherwise it will just keep infecting your relationship until you have a painful breakup.

You lent her your trust. Probably gave her access to your private photobucket account so she could see those dirty pictures of your naked body. She witnessed your bare flesh and now you feel ravaged. You stayed up, despite the time difference to hold intimate MSN conversations. Full of such emoticons as "kissing faces" and "smiling faces with hearts raising up." These aren't just average run of the mill emoticons.. these are fucking intimate love emoticons. Reserved for internet girlfriends, mothers, little boys or anyone Testie is talking to.
You probably spilled your guts to her in a passive internet kinda way. Making long blog posts about your love for this wonderful internet person and then leading her to them in a indirect kind of way. You told her you cried (when you probably didn't) and she responded in kind (probably not).
What were all those "lol" ? Now you begin to question.. did she actually laugh? Was it even "outloud?" Heres what we do buddy.. does the technology exist to get a webcam to record information that had already been shown? No. Not yet.
Would a lie detector test be a bit much? Yes. But people probably said that about you flying to America to meet a girl you had never actually met in person... and that didn't stop you did it?
Tell her if she really loves you she will rig up a mobile webcam / wifi connection and march herself to the local lie detector test place and have on taken with 2 witnesses (internet or real) and have the results streamed live to your desktop. If she passes this crisis can be averted and in fact she has an evil friend who went through the necessary steps to hack mischy's desktop to fake conversations with 2 men to spite her..
We will decide what to do with her later! But first the test. Let us know how it goes.

This is a good point actually, I suppose it's possible that she had some extremely traumatic webcam experience that lead to these repressed memories. Did she show any signs of internet rape? If this is 100% true then I would believe her, I mean it would certainly explain why she is all upset and so on. Take it easy and wait for her to explain and then decide, don't do anything to quickly.

Either way - if we're being serious - I'm under the impression she is lying. Which is a shame, because I think if she told the truth and just said yeah I did these things everything would be a lot easier.
So, in the end you have two decisions in my mind:
1) You can forgive her, tell her so, and maybe ease your mind about the whole e-cheating.com business. This is reasonable, but as someone said previously, you have to forgive her otherwise you're just playing games with yourself, and it'll hurt later. This is a risky business, but it can be fulfilling if you really believe you have something. (Particularly in real life... because if marriage is your end goal, I don't think you do that in a terminal, real life is actually very important here)
2) You can leave becasue she betrayed you and you thought she was worth more than that, and your foundation isn't strong enough to actually have stuff like this go on. This is equally reasonable. A lot of people choose choice A because it delays the heartbreak and might save things. Based on her crazy reaction either she's a good actor or she's definitely upset. Her parents never seeing her cry is weird, but I'll sweep that under the rug (I'm guessing they meant past maturity Inc lol). But choosing this isn't a bad way to go either... if anything, all it means is there is another e-fish in the internet pond that you need to find... or one in real life. Whichever you prefer.
As for the rest,
I REALLY don't think she had a friend come over and like cyber sex some random guys on her computer. I REALLY don't.
I also really don't think anyone can forget that junk, so the mind suppression thing seems like a weak excuse to me (basically one of those things you tell yourself to ease your mind when you have a huge faith in someone). You have the chat logs, how much of it is complete? Did she break down in the middle? Or did she finish what she was doing. How long did their relationships last? ETc. These are good indicators that a) NOT A FRIEND, and b) NOT TRAUMATIZED TO FORGET.
Lastly, I don't understand the point that a ton of people have brought up here, and that is, why were you snooping on her computer in the first place? What was the just cause of that? If there is one, I think you should be rethinking the entire business, because you're not telling us the entire story... so... Option B sounds cleaner than Option A.
But really, bottom line, the decision is yours and is none of ours to make. Your heart probably already knows what's actually right to begin with.

Programs like StudioPro/Camtasia can make a 'virtual webcam' and stream that on MSN.

I just finished playing Phoenix Wright recently and I had an idea. + Show Spoiler +Maybe she has a twin that you don't know about, and this Amanda character set up the twin to talk to your best friend. It seems extremely unlikely to me that she is telling the truth. A friend came round her house and planted evidence on her computer where nobody would find it without stumbling into a random picture while staying with her for the few days a year he's there? Extremely convoluted scheme. Also shouldn't she be really pissed off with Amanda. If a friend pranked me by convincing my girlfriend I was cheating on her I doubt I'd see the funny side.
Ultimately it doesn't matter either way. You've been given a guilt free excuse to get out of that relationship and try and find an equally stimulating one in the same continent. Take it. It's not like you'll ever be able to trust her again anyway, especially given the distance.
That said, if you're staying there for a bit because of your plane then wait it out because hotels are a lot of effort. Also when you leave it'd be useful to burn your bridges to avoid regressing so I recommend you say you believe her, engage in a lot of rough guilt sex and then leave a note saying it's over when you go.

Judging from your reaction, she, in panic, decides to vehemently deny everything, and steps into the path of the Lie. Her friends and family know how much You mean to her, so they lie for her. Just to make possible the dream of their friend/daughter.
Sadly though, they are not computer sawwy enough to know that what they suggest to have happened is really not plausible -- it's possible, but not realistic in any common scenario, and not doable by your regular cybergirls -- but instead insist on continuing with the lie.
Now, you've got some possible choices, as always. What I'd recommend is that:
1. You try to understand that it's not a big thing if she flirted with people on the internet while you were 'internet dating'. 3. Now that the neccessary steps have been taken, you're going to tell her that she doesn't have to continue with the lie. You'll understand what happened, and why she tried to do what she did. Then ask her to tell the whole story - this time without the lies. Including what she asked her friends/familty to do - or what they offered to do for her.
4. Get over it, man up, forgive her, and continue to live the dream which you had fantasized about for THREE years while being thousands of miles away. Btw. There will be other things that you wont like too (things that you didn't neccessarily witness through your cybersessions), so it's quite neccessary to man up before continuing any further.
That, or GTFO like a coward. Can't base a relationship on a lie, sorry.

I wanted to say something witty and hilarious like inc but I feel like there's a slim possibility that you're telling the truth, so here's my advice.
I was in a similar situation before, but with an RL girlfriend of 4 years. With me, she said everything I wanted to hear and was just my perfect little angel. Behind my back she cheated on me... For about 10 months...
Now, I'm also relatively intellectual and intelligent, but I didn't know what to do when my friends came to me telling me that she's being unfaithful. She outright denied it, and very believably. The problem is. She's a liar. Those are her chatlogs I can guarantee. I promise you. I also promise you they aren't the only ones, and I also promise you that there will be more. You can never trust someone who can look you in the eyes, cry, say they love you, and still lie to your face.
It's not a repressed memory. She knows that she can pretend it is and she knows that if you 'love' her enough, she can get away with it.
The only thing that can help these people in the long term is to leave them the second they are disloyal. Show them that they cannot get away with it and no amount of affection can obscure the truth from light. Sadly this means that you can never have a successful relationship with her. If you think she's fixed, she won't do it anymore, and get back together, she will further believe in her acting abilities and her own selfish gains.
This relationship is over. You can, like me, live in denial, feel happy and blissful, have wonderful sex and plan a future. But it will end, and along the way everyone will be hurt more. Because you can love a liar, but you can never know if that liar really loves you.
She seems "perfect" to you because you've allowed yourself to fall for her completely. You love her. So yes, she seems perfect to you. But when you fall for someone else. Someone sane, that new person will be perfect to you. My advice, wait for that one.

I think everything that you need to hear has already been said, so I'll keep this brief. Regardless of whatever explanation Amanda gives, I think this situation is so incredibly strange that even if you forgive your GF now, you'll never be able to completely put it behind you. That is an excellent post. I was going to post almost the exact same thing, but the words were stolen before I could finish reading the thread. The only difference really between the two of us was that I actually was married. And she was crazy. And she did lie about it constantly. And she could cry and look me in the eyes and lie like you wouldn't believe.
The point, though, is that either she cheated on you (figuratively or not, it doesn't really matter), or you have what is likely an irrevocably severed trust with/to her. In either case, I can pretty well guarantee you that just sticking with this relationship isn't going to lead to pleasant times.

1) The image of her that you have in your mind is not her.
Take any person you know; the image you have of them is NOT who they are. It may be a good approximation, it may be a bit off. Just don't let yourself go into "but she's not really like that."
You're right in one thing: The image of her from your head is not 'like that'. She, on the other hand, may be like 'that' tho.
2) Even if she cheated on you, that doesn't mean she planned this vicious plan or that she's bad or anything. She's just immature - immature people cheat. If you forgive her, and she promises never to do anything like that, she may even mean it with all of her heart, but if she's immature, she's not gonna be able to control herself and she WILL eventually do some similar shit. Until she gradually grows up, which doesn't happen that fast.
3) You don't OWE anything to anybody, especially not love or friendship.
When making a decision about this, only keep YOUR wants in mind, only ask yourself what you want.
