And that argument is totally valid. The reason the guy at McDonalds messes up your drive-thru order is because for minumim wage he doesn't care. But at the fine dining establishment where you pay $100 per meal they better get it right!

If you aren't going to do a voluntary job and put in as much effort as if you were getting paid when people rely on you and it affects them then you shouldn't have applied for the position in the first place.

I hope they apologize or something and fix it.
