[rant] Jesus christ... is it hard enough to get a decent internet connection so I don't have to see your ass on the drop screen every 30 sec when I'm trying to play some micro intensive tvz.
So I've probably played against 5 9pools in my career 2 of which happened in the past half hour. Now normally thats fine, except when I'm doing a fucking 8rax cheese in the middle of the map... the first time i've ever attempted this cheese and the guy fucking 9pools. Next game "Hey I feel like mixing it up a bit instead of 1 rax fe every game" so I go for a 2 rax sunk bust... oh look another 9 pool to fuck me over.
Then I have to go back into the channels so I search Ladder D, Ladder D [2], and Ladder D [3]... 150 fucking people and not a single one wants to play a 1v1 D. And when I do finally see some chat that lets me know the whole world isn't in a nuclear holocaust its in korean so I get to see 30 lines of "???? ?? ????"
I started the season something like 7-2... and I've managed to lose like 6-7 straight, FML.
Also every game has to be fucked up somehow... I should have 3 more wins buuuuuuuuut 2 wins some fucking noobs decided to make it "Melee" instead of "One on One" thanks for that... and another I get dc'ed in the middle of the game but it continues... I have no idea how that happens, and I manage to win but don't get the points because I dc'ed. As I'm complaining to iccup admins it literally takes 6 days for them to tell me that it was melee games and they only accept one on one.
I'm sure more reasons will come to me, as I decided to play another game when I was formulating my thoughts to see if it would cool me down, but it just gave me more rage. [/rant]

just play standard. don't worry about getting wins, instead worry about improving. work on your mechanics, strategy, build orders, etc...

I probably play about 10 games a day and guess what I do every game... 1 rax FE, or 1 fax FE, I can hardly contain my joy of doing this every game.
And I'm complaining about getting 9pooled on my cheese because thats my first hardcore cheese ive done on iccup and I've probably been 9pooled a single digit amount of times... now I'm not much for statistics but...

easy there tonto. practice some more and care less about your record/rank(you seem to care a lot judging by your infuriation over winning in melee mode) and you'll be smiling every time the zerg 9 pools.

If it makes you feel any better, I can safely say I am the worst player in the history of StarCraft. So whenever you lose, just remember that whatever might happen, there is at least one person doing worse then you.

2 rax is supposed to make you safer against 9 pool, not the other way around >.<. If you really hate 9 pools that much, just 10 rax on iccup (instead of 11).

Considering 9pool isn't even so much 'cheese' as 'being safe against ridiculous terran cheese on iccup', I don't see why you're complaining. One marine + 4 scvs can block 9pools... >>;

I checked the rep and my second rine WAS on my ramp when the 6 zerglings got there but I was definitely unprepared, so yeah I had a little more defense but with no scv's blocking I got owned...
And granted my micro is atrocious so the rines popping as the zerglings were running around my base were killed pretty easily as I was attempting to block with some scv's

This. Even on a 4 player map, you should be able to scout that a 9 pool is coming fast enough to get scv's on your ramp.

What do you mean you didn't have the opportunity???
You had the opportunity, and you missed it. It's called scouting. If you don't scout him quickly enough, send a second scout or assume he is 4-9 pooling and pull some scv's just in case.
If you are going to commit to a crazy build like 8 rax in the middle of the map, don't cry when a cautious zerg beats you.
If you had ever been to higher ranks you'd slap yourself at complaining about the 30 second window where you couldn't find a game.
Just keep checking the join list, and ctrl+v "D/D+ you make msg me" into the channel every now and then, you will most certainly find a game very quickly.
People from all over the world play on iccup, don't expect people to speak English, and because you are playing SCBW, don't be surprised when they are Korean...lol

How about refine the join list to "one on one", or how about actually paying attention when you join the game to check there is only 2 slots or that it says "Game type One on One"
People are allowed to host melee games, it's not a crime... not everyone plays for points people even UMS on iccup so why they should be deemed "fucking noobs" just because they are not creating the type of game you want and you are too fucking stupid to even notice?

And that is why you should either build your first depot in the top left corner of your main or just send an SCV up at the right time so you know whether or not the zerg is there.

If you really lost to 9pool when you went 2rax you did something terribly wrong. Do you know how to defend your choke and scout properly? You should be able to hold off 5 pools as terran relatively easy as long as you play safe.

This is correct when your opponent 5-pools. You should have more than 1 marine against a 9-pool.

protip: don't join games on iccup, host them. if you can't host, either lrn2networking or stop whining. there are many many more people wanting to join games than host them, so you never have to wait more than a few seconds for someone to join your game. and then you can pick gametype and even map however you like, and ban people you don't like the look of. seriously, there is no downside other than having to learn how to setup your router.

Not only that, but if Terran at 6 scouts 3, he finds nothing but sees the ovie from the zerg scout him right away so he instantly should send his scouting SCV to 9, which should let you see pool before ovie builds in time to block your ramp. Zergs send their ovies between 9 and 6(and vice versa), and 12 and 3(and vice versa), so you should see his ovie right away and scout it in time to block your ramp.

nah, thats why you don't do 8rax cheeses. they're very risky
its not like he could have scouted earlier, because terran usually scout after the zerg's pool is going down. since zerg makes drones faster than any other race, and the pool goes down at 9, then there is no way to block it with a 8rax cheese going up.

to add to your rant - i hate iccupers, who have 900 ping themselves vs my 90 ping and leave right away when they see my lan latancy is off (some of you are amongst them fosho). like wtf? they don't even know what this shit is and they expect it to be a miracle for their 900+++ pings. this pisses me off badly.
