Have you finalised the fact that you're going to Yonsei yet? Can you change this? If not, ignore me ^^

My advice is to learn as much as possible in the 10 days you have now.. So.. once you get there, you can hit the ground running... I'm not sure if your level has been determined already..? But if you still need to do an orientation test, you might be able to start at a slightly higher level..!

I've finalised it yeah. I guess that's not a good sign. Just give me the bad news already :p
I did sign in for total beginner already. So I'm guessing that's were I'm starting. I haven't learned a lot at home, cause I really have problems concentrating at home! And this is a vacation in a way. But I will try to study hangul hard.

Thanks a lot for the advices. I got a lot of questions for you, but I guess you are a very busy man since you are teaching English to Koreans, and are trying to learn Korean yourself

But if you got some spare time over there I would love to meet up! Thanks again!

@ dokotrh - i went to school @ seoul, but the parties are at yonsei! Korea's a blast, and if you meet the right people they can really make the trip worth it.

Elric offers some good advice; study the things you can learn on your own so the class doesn't overwhelm you in the first weeks. In my personal experience in Korea, friends were the key to learning Korean quickly. Things like chatting on MSN messenger forced me to get my vocab and grammar straight.

Okok. At last I get the advices! Yeah I'm staying with a family and another student. So I hope that will help me alot. I hope I'll experience your way of living there. Did you only study Korean? And for how long? Are you fluent in Korean btw?

Yonsei isn't bad per se. It just has a different focus from other language schools. I.e. grammar / reading. I must stress I've had no personal experience of it but I hear this a lot. In anyyyyycase, you will have a great time..

My advice is not to study too hard though, esp if you're only here for 10 weeks.. Concentrate on having fun!

I hang around Sinchon (area around Yonsei) a lot so I'm sure we'll meet up sometime.
