people naturally like old-timers more than nobodies like Notice. When notice wins 3 starleagues and 2 years pass, people will be swarming him all the time too.

Oov set the standard for the macro oriented style we see today. It always takes a few years to truly realize and appreciate someone's influence on the game. ![]()

Oovs innovative spirit saw what a future, incredibly efficient way to play game would be like way before everyone else

Why do so many people like him now? He's not the undisputed top player in the world making every opponent look like a wet-behind-the-ears pathetic newbie. Photoshopped pics of him gorging on bananas don't hurt, though.

Not to mention the Ever OSL finals where he beat Boxer is arguably the best finals of all time. They have huge mutual respect and Oov still calls him hyung. Nada I can see though.

Not to mention the Ever OSL finals where he beat Boxer is arguably the best finals of all time. They have huge mutual respect and Oov still calls him hyung. Nada I can see though. Obviously that makes a lot of sense and is very rational (and mirrors my own opinion both then and now, just to clarify), but in what time has fanboyism ever been rational or made sense? ;( The Boxer fans who did hate him (admittedly, many didn't, but again, the ones who did were drastically more vocal) may have hated oov simply because they were angry that the Emperor was no longer the best and wanted a scapegoat, or they were mad because the student had bested the teacher, or because oov, despite being the student of Boxer, played a style almost the antithesis of the Emperor's ... or maybe they really just hated his goofy faces. Who knows. Oh, and I agree 100% about the Ever OSL: that's my favorite finals ever, despite my fervent hopes that Boxer would win that. God, the mixed joy and sorrow on both of their faces (obviously in empathy for the other) when oov won said all that ever needed to be said about them as players and as role models for the other players.
