VersaEmerge I like the depth that male vocal adds to the song. I like the way it adds another layer and is not overpowering, most people probably won't even notice it

I have their albums, but I've never really listened closely to them. They were one of the bands I decided to try out when I was trying to branch out into pop/punk rock music.

They're alright, but they get a little tedious to listen to...it's hard for me to maintain interest as I'm working through one of their albums.

They have a strong vocalist, though, which I do like.

WTF kinda post is that?

Sometimes a person can like strange music compared to what he normally listens to.

Favorite Bands:
Trivium
All That Remains
Megadeth
Protest The Hero

Some bands just have a sound you like others you don't. Music is something everyone can take to themselves and not feel ashamed about it

Shogun has a lot of depth the vocals have improved a lot, but one thing I don't like is the fact that they seemed to have overall slowed down from their past albums, and solos aren't quite as long. 7/10 Album.

Overcome easily made All That Remains one of my favorite bands because of the improved vocals and cleaner sound compared to past albums as well. Also housing great sounds as "Two Weeks" and a very deep "Forever In Your Hands" both sound like songs from two completely different albums. I personally would give this album a 9/10

I Heard them playing live on some award show, and holy crap, the singer sounds so sketchy. Plus the lyrics sounds like a 15 year old girls diary entries.

I'm still blazed from seeing trivium live
fucking bassist made me feel like my heart was gonna fucking pop xD, my ears were already longgg gone.
anyways the album needed more epic but I'm a sucker for vocals so 8/10

All that remains disappointed me , there was a lotta hype(for me) and they releasrd chiron like a couple weeks before the album, i was like FUCK YEA; I started listening to the fall of ideals album.
then i heard the overcome and everything was just... meh it was still quality , i just felt they could've done lots better and i ws spoiled from fall of ideals; plus i was like WTF every other band can do those low growls, do your awesome high pitched growls! but , lest they refused 7/10.

All in all, they both really changed their sound and i was not happeh ; but they still both rock and i'd still be proud to say i listen to them o_o'

I don't think they're very good. I also don't think they would be popular if they didn't have a good looking lead singer, but hey, music preferences are personal and whatnot.

The best band with a female lead singer is The Gathering, though they've sadly disbanded.

I have their music, but like some others have mentioned, their music gets kinda tedious to listen to after a few times. BUT there is this set of covers that i think actually sound better than the original:

Vitamin String Quartet version of Crushcrushcrush:

Vitamin String Quartet version of Misery Business overlayed with Hayley's (lead singer) vocals by some awesome youtube-dwelling soul:

dunno if those are anyone's cup of tea, but these seemed pretty cool to me :D

Eh, I heard Megadeth is going to do Gigantour with Bullet for a Valentine or whatever -_-

-1000 respect for Mustaine.

Also on Crushcrushcrush I see that she is always bent towards the microphone. awkward, but
song is catchy though.

LOL on the wikipedia page, the bassist and the drummer are wearing Iron Maiden and Slayer t-Shirts!!

If selling out means making tons of cash, people will do it! Easier for a band like Paramore to make it big as compared to a metal band.

Epic fail in Indie coolness for you OP

WTF kinda post is that?

Sometimes a person can like strange music compared to what he normally listens to.

Favorite Bands:
Trivium
All That Remains
Megadeth
Protest The Hero

Some bands just have a sound you like others you don't. Music is something everyone can take to themselves and not feel ashamed about it

Please don't list Megadeth with all those other bans. Ever again

I don't see whats the problem. Each has their own unique sound thats only them.

I haven't heard much from All that remains, but Megadeth is way ahead of Trivium and Protest The Hero in every single thing you can think of.

Also Trivium is not "unique".

Everybody is unique!

Trivium is just infinitely less unique than that other metalcore band.

Every band has their own unique sound. Megadeth has been along longer and helped create the scene. It's like comparing Boxer to Leta

I'm also going to have to admit that I like Paramore, in fact Pressure is probably one of my favorite songs.

You'd think that because of the genre they fall under a lot people would try to hide the fact that they like their music, like what I've noticed with friends who are into Fall Out Boy or MCR. Although it seems nearly all Paramore fans I meet have no problems admitting it

Edit: although I really really hate the song Decode...don't know what it is about that song...but I cringed the first time I heard it and it continues to make me cringe.

HeavOnEarth, you don't understand. Metalheads live to be condescending asses, and eat babies.

It's one of the biggest forum faux pas' to say you like a certain type of music and also to say a certain girl is hot. You broke both in one post, congrats!
