This Firefox userscript replaces the default Youtube player with a custom one that does not display a progress bar or the video length. Additionally it hides the comments, related videos, and channel videos panels and shows the full description by default. On the channel page of TL's Youtube channel it also removes the video length from VODs.
How to use: - Click on the small "sp" next to the progress bar to disable / enable it
How to set up To set up which channels you want to have despoilerized go to Tools -> Greasemonkey -> User Script Commands -> Set included channels (This menu is only available on Youtube)
Genius ... the comments don't really bug me as much in the first place since if you don't scroll down you won't even see the first comment anyway, but the progress bar hider and related videos is awesome
That's really awesome, but sadly I don't use firefox, and although it's something I'm quite interested in, I don't think I'll get firefox just for that purpose.
The last thing I want to do is turn this into an IE vs. Firefox thread, because really I don't care, but is there any chance of this being IE'ed in the future? Thanks.

I think there is Userscript support for IE out there too, use Google (or MSN Search or w/e).
For everyone else who will ask: No, I will NOT support this for any browser but Firefox. If you want to use this try to get Userscript support for your browser, a lot already have that available in one form or another.

Thanks for the info, I'll check it out. =)
Quite funny because I was -just- ranting to a friend about the progress bar on VODS like... Two days ago, haha.
I like this but atm I'm listening to a youtube playlist and the Autoplay to next video feature is not working, also can't change the volume, only on or off
It works well, one bug I did find right away (for me at least) though is if you click SP and then fullscreen it. It moves the entire right part of the screen "off the screen" in a way that you no longer can click the sound buttons or the sp button. Tested it a few times and there's the same result everytime.
Other than that it works great.
re-edit: It seems to be fixed with the latest version, Nice =D
When I try to download the script it goes to Adobe Dreamweaver and says my trial has expired. Do you need that to open the program or something? I'm lost.
Hm, it doesn't seem to work with todays uploads, like this one After clicking on the pony in the middle to play it, it says that video is not found. And it is there, and works - I checked it with greasemonkey off. Weird, becouse it does work with the older uploads.
1 more thing, it seems to interract somehow with Fast Video Downloader, which doesn't work now (turning off monkey/script makes it work again). its not big deal, but just saying.
edit:yeah looks like fix helped, all vods work now. gj^^

Also, how do I include all youtube channels (yes I like it that much).
OK will do in a future version. To include all channels replace the channel list with a single star: *

Should be possible. Can you give me a list of missing hotkeys plz?
There is still one problem: The preview picture of youtube. It shows the scene which happens at half of the vod and shows very often at which stage the game is. Especially annoying @ msl games with a game clock.
Not so important but would be nice: Is it possible to load the player too when you just click "show spoiler" @ the small vod thread. There isnt always a

is it possible to make the background dark on every video and not just the ones with a light bulb? staring at the vid in a box with white all around gets annoying =)

With the Progress Bar gone = you won't know when the current game is going to end, so you won't spoil the outcome of the game With the comments gone = you won't have to see "LOL NICE JOB JAEDONG" and spoil the winner of the game With the Related Videos tab gone = you won't see any future matches in a series and spoil what happens in the current game
Most people here enjoy watching their VODs spoiler-free, so it's a great script. I even use it for all Youtube videos now, gives it a much cleaner look.
im not sure if this is suppose to happen but...for every video i want to watch on youtube, i have to add the channel the video is under to the player???
zatic, please please please update this to include volume adjustment instead of just on/off volume. SC matches have deafeningly high volume (not your fault, of course)!
Otherwise this script is great and very much appreciated. That dastardly comments field has spoiled more games than I can count! Thanks a lot for your hard work.

Yes, want to do that in a future release.

OK, I see what I can do but not too high a priority.

Hmm, i downloaded this script when it was featured on the front page and it was great. Now i installed a new (?) version (i deinstalled it before) and it doesn't do anything. Halp?

Did you install greasemonkey?
Yes, as i said, the script DID work fine. Then i installed it again, because i wanted to change something, and now it doesn't work at all anymore (even without changes) and i don't understand why...

I know that someone already said this, but shortcut keys would make it possible to navigate (skip intro, etc.) without viewing the progress bar, which would be awesome. Thanks for the script; it's great!
I tested and apparently the script doesn't work anymore (Firefox 3.6.13). An alternative but very limited solution : YouTube Progaming for Stylish. I found it useful to watch HDstarcraft's latest videos. Not knowing about a game's duration is cool but of course a spoiler-free player would be even better !
