ok so I've been asked this numerous times when I tell someone I play SC and I'm decent at it: "what rank are you?" or "are you ranked?"

now obviously, someone like me can't answer that since I'm not a progamer or a top foreigner so I explain that there really isn't a ranking for people like us. But sometimes they won't take that for an answer

so I think about it and eventually say that I'm around top 1000 in the US. Is that a good estimate for C player? Would it more like top 500? Top 2000? Top 10,000?

you can always check the country standings for the US on ICCUP, although it would be a little off because of those not playing that season or smurfs, but it should pan out

There is only a few hundred C gamers in the USA on iccup. Not everybody plays iccup but you can't get ranked if you don't play. So if your C on iccup right now then see what your rank is at the end of the season and there you have it.

Right I remember like last season or the season before that, I checked my ranking for the USA near the end of the season and my mid C rank got me to like rank #150 or so. imo, that seems way off

The current #1000 ranked person for iccup USA is D with 1876 points. Wow, I'm good enough to get into the top 1000 USA players!

Just barely tho lol.

The last C ranked player is #154.

Seriously just say your top 10 of something who is gonna question you. If they call you out just own them 1v1 since they probally jus a D- newb anyways and once they see your 100+ (w/e u got) apm compared to their 15 apm they wont be questioning you :p

there are many US players that have more than 1 aka. Back in the spring, I had 6 C ranks and 2 C+ accounts. I know Nyoken has had a couple C ranks and a B+ and B- in the spring.

i would say much higher. Even though there are many americans who do play starcraft, there is maybe only a couple hundred who play on iccup.

edit: Plus I don't think iccup ranks can tell you what you're rank is, because there are many players who are much better at the ranks lower than you, and a lot of players who are a lot worse than you at higher ranks. Depending on the time of day that you play, as well as the cheesing players who 4 or 5 pool / proxy 2gate / bunker rush every game.

I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say that I'm top 10 in Denmark. Living in a small country with a tiny community has its upsides.

I'd rather have a huge community filled with gosu people, but what can you do?

I'm currently 1300 in Canada after 18 games on ICCUP. :D I want to see how I really stack up though, mostly in BC. I want there to be a BC lan tournament somewhere.
