EPTI have yet another idea for a short story. I'm only in grade 9 so there won't be the best use of language or grammer, please feel for to criticize. I like to write just to get ideas out of my head and let them flow.
"I love you mom!"
I wish I had said that today. Now I'm laying on the sidewalk dieing. I've never thought so hard about my life before. When you're bleeding from multiple wounds, you tend to think harder.
"I haven't done anything wrong! This isn't fair!!!" This is what is circling in my head the most. The Great Father said this was possible, but I didn't think it would happen to me!.
The Great Father said that we needed to stop the government from growing any more powerful. I don't know how that's possible, but he seemed so sure. His charisma brought me, as well as thousands of others to rebel. He knew what he was doing, or so we thought.
Who is this man? You might be asking that. Nobody really knows his birthname, but he is just a man. Had I known that 3 months ago, when I joined this fucking rebellion, I might still be ok. He's a lawyer from Austin, Texas who claims to know the government's plans. He said that they were going to spread a biological disease to administer against the poor nations in South America.
Would you believe him? I did, and I regret every moment. He has the power to move crowds and persuade them to his side. A great talent, if he used it right he could save worlds.
Fast forwarding to the day before today, I remember waking up excited. I was going to Washington D.C to stand up to the government along with 15,000 others. Truly a highlight of my life. The day started normally. I woke up, hitting my head off of the fucking shelf right above my head, a great way to start the day. I walk upstairs from the basement into the living room to eventually go to the kitchen for breakfast.
Why is this important? Well my mom was in the kitchen and she found my journal about the trip to D.C. Now, being an 18 year old B+ Average student taking a victory lap in high school, I should be allowed to go on a road trip with his 3 best friends. But not according to my mom.
"Damnit Robert people get killed at these rallies you have no idea what you're doing!"
Was what she said, holding her head up with her head at the kitchen table, drinking coffee.
"Mom the guy leading it is perfect! He wouldn't let anyhting happen to us!"
"He's just trying to get thousands of people to pay him! Is this why your grades are dropping?"
"No mom! Stop being such a bitch!"
"Well I'm not running away from home to go yell at the government! Please honey! I love you don't go!"
"Fuck you mom! Fuck dad! Fuck this house, this country and especially FUCK THIS GOVERNMENT!"
I'd give anything to change that conversation. But it's too late now. I stormed out of the house, called my best friend and chilled at his house until precisely 11:00 Am. We hopped in his car and drove to D.C
I'll skip the trip because nothing important happened there. When we got there, we could see the rally with atleast 10,000 people outside of the white house, covering the streets. I couldn't see the Great Father but I knew he was there. Me and my friend got out of the car and joined in the rally right away.
"This is worth it huh Robbie?"
Jeff, my best friend yelled over the crowd.
"Yeah it is! Let's bring this piece of shit government down!"
I guess more people heard that than I had thought, because the entire crowd roared after I said that. It was perfect, the government had to respond. And respond they did....
Gunshots were heard from the building as people ran and screamed from the frenzy. You had no choice but to run, if you stayed you died. If the gunshots didn`t kill you the stampede did. Me and Jeff, being at the back of the crowd ran back as fast as we could to the car.
The riot cops had a different idea. They threw tear gas into the crowd to stop anyone from rioting any further. Helicopters flew in dropping tear gas in as well. As it turns out, many of the rioters had guns. I wasn`t surprised. But I was surprised when I felt a sharp pain in my back. I dropped to the ground, being trampled.
Instinctively, as all creatures would, I cried for my mom. Reality sank in as I remembered what I said. Pain didn`t cause me to cry, what are broken bones, gunshot wounds and blood everywhere compared to knowing you`re going to break your mothers heart?
I don`t remember pain, I don`t remember sound. All I remember is my mom with the look on her face as she explained to me about going to the rally. It was the most concerned face. Her bright blue eyes, her wrinkled yet beautiful face. That was the last thing I remember seeing...
