Or just block off the bamboo. :p Afaik negative feedback only works when they're actually doing it (or when they're just about to, that really fucks em up.. "how did he know?!!") in my experience, unless its an old/lazy cat you will always wear out first

Water doesn't always work, because its a very short shock, and the cat can just brush it off and worse if he/she brushes it off on your bed =[ Use other things, such as putting coins in a can and shaking it rapidily so that it makes a loud sound. The vaccum works on most domestic animals, but its not practical. Also try spraying vinegar or some sort of cat repellant on the base of your bamboo, and get your cat a scratching pole (keep them occupied). Hitting your cat should only be used as a last resort i.e. the cat is murdering your tree and then all of a sudden turn on you. And don't hurt your kitty. They're so cute. And fuzzy. And cuddly. I luv my kitty! <3 <3 <3

We gave our cat a catnip filled mouse toy once and it drooled all over it and rolled around on the floor for an hour.
