So which of the two would you personally chose?
On a side note, please feel free to share what manufactures you like, experiences or just brag about your iphones.

Ugh I'm not too much of an expert but what I've heard is that Nokia has the best phones when money isn't a problem, but if you're looking for cheaper phone then Samsung has better to offer.

Ask yourself if you REALLY need a cell phone for anything else but making calls and sending text messages.

Ye, after ages of using expensive phones with cameras and what not I've come to the conclusion that they have no value to me, currently I'm using the cheapest Nokia phone I found in my local store.

And its fucking awesome.

I've actually got that Nokia 5310 XpressMusic(but red! =D).
So far it has been performing superbly. The earphones are kinda crap (because of the length of the cable) but are good, if you don't mind keeping the phone in your coat than trousers' pocket.
Ripping music to your phone is very intuitive and you get a nice CD with a program that handles it.
You can rip music in different quality too (normal[good] quality like on music CDs that 1 song is like 5MB +/- or in super compressed format +/- 500kb a song.)
Battery life is not bad (I mainly use it as a MP3 player, only sometimes calling people :p) it lasts about 2-3 days of intensive music playing.
I dunno about the prices in your region but here in Belgium it costs 135 euro without tax, and you get mini-speakers as a free holiday gift (always handy for a small party^^).
If you want a good phone for the next few years I suggest getting a Nokia (any type really) IMO.
Sony Ericssons are very popular also, I had a K700i and it was a good phone, but unfortunately the joystick fucked up after 3 years of use =(.
For the curse of life is the curse of want. PC = https://be.pcpartpicker.com/user/LathamTK/builds/#view=CrqmP6

i have the nokia, it's ok. i got it mainly so i could have music in my car without having to carry around cds / my ipod all the time. also it's reaaaaaaaaaalllly small / thin compared to most other phones and that is a plus for me.
the world's a playground. you know that when you're a kid, but somewhere along the way everyone forgets it.

Nokia is by far the best phone I have ever encountered. The battery is a long laster, they survive through anything and they're good. lol
