Why are people so retarded with these. Its not like its a crazy new star trek technology that is completely unheard of.

First of all they always say; "I need one of those ear thingies, that you can like, put in your ear, for my XXX model phone". I shit you not this is the same fucking thing everyone says when they want a headset.

Congratulations, this lets me know is that you are an ignorant consumer and I can basically make up whatever bullshit and sell you anything for top price.

Secondly, do you mean a corded headset or a wireless headset/bluetooth? They usually don't even know the difference.

Then they'll ask how the wireless one works. Do you want me to break down the technical information that you won't even understand? Because it works pretty fucking similar to the WIRELESS cell phone you have.

Third, Bluetooth is universal. It is a technology. Its not a name brand or a model, it works with any bluetooth ready device (probably even your computer). Which is most phones (except for the cheap basic free phones).

The fourth most annoying thing is that everyone wants to fucking try it on in their ear. There are a few reasons why this bothers me to no end:

1.The most disturbing part about this is that they don't care about sticking some foreign shit that someone else probably put in their ear and/or have no regard for someone else who might wanna purchase the item if they try it and don't like it. Putting something in your ear is like sharing a snotty kleenex with someone.

2. They want me to open the box and break seals and basically defile the package just so they can 'try it out on their ear'. And everyone always always says either "I have really small/big ears and I have trouble with these things".
"They never stay on/in my ear." And they never ever have clean ears. There is always wax and lint and shit all over it. You can't just wipe off the rubber either, its sticks to it. I have to wash the shit. Can I get a Tip please, Thanks.

3. No matter how much testing you do how it fits, you aren't going to be able to hear the sound quality because its not charged. So don't fucking come back with it saying it doesn't work. I warned you, You bought it, you deal with it. Buy a more expensive noise/echo canceling one next time and you wont have problems cheapskate.
Besides once you stick this shit all in your ear, how am I supposed to take this back?
Do you return your underwear after you go to the gym and say, hmm these don't fit right. Disgusting.

4. They just leave the packages spread around with all the accessories and papers laying all over and expect me to clean it all up when they finally choose one. Fuck you asshole, they give waiters tips for serving and cleaning up messes. Again, Where's my tip?

Once they finally decide which one fits they are surprised to find out that "Omg, you mean I have to charge this thing separately too?" Don't blame me bitch, Blame capitalist Edison and USA for not going with Testla's free wireless power for the people instead. Of course you have to fucking charge an electronic for it to work.


Then they want me to set it up so it 'just works' and they never have to touch it again. It doesn't work that way.
You have to charge it first (thank god for this, otherwise I would be pairing these fuckers all day for nothing.) It's not that hard you lazy bastard. Just read the 6 step quick start guide that is huge print with pictures for dumb shits like you. Obviously its not going to tell you how to put your phone into pairing mode because every phone is different and it says in your phone manual that you probably threw away because you are lazy and can always just bring the phone in to bother employees at cell phone stores (even if its not the same service provider you use).

So for anyone wondering here are the general easy steps to pair a bluetooth:
1- Charge both devices beforehand...
2- On your phone click: Menu>Tools/settings>Bluetooth/Connection> TURN POWER ON
3-Put bluetooth device in pairing mode. In order to do this you usually have to hold down the talk/power button for a set time or something like that (it varies from device to device). Read the fucking quick guide.
4-Tell your phone to search for new devices.
5-Once it finds the device, connect to it (make sure the make/model is correct) and not someone else's phone or bluetooth nearby. Usually you need to type a password which is always something simple like 0000 or 1234.
optional recommended:
6-Turn the fucking bluetooth power on your phone off when you are not using the device or it is far away. Your phone will drain battery trying to connect to it over and over when its not even there. Its not that hard. just click link/drop device or bluetooth power on/off in the bluetooth device menu.

That sounds like me trying to help my mom/sister with the computer.

My sister goes to youtube on a new comp and she can't watch anything because she doesn't have the latest flash player. Youtube GIVES her the link to dl it and she still can't get it to work. She says she already did it so when I try to help, I dl it again then install it. Amazingly, it works.

Afterwards, I found out she didn't install it. I ask her why.

"I didn't want to download a virus"

On top of that, she's either too stupid to understand that you have to install something or she legitimately thinks youtube was trying to give her a virus.

Who said I was ripping anyone off? I just said that their attitude is one that enables people in my position to do so. What the fuck are you assuming shit for?

Did you even read what I wrote in the quote? RANDOM PERSON, comes in with any device. I probably didn't even sell it to them nor are they even a Verizon customer. And they just expect me to work for free. Fuck off.

And sorry if I failed to mention that I do actually try and pair their crap but 90% of the time I have no clue how to set the obscure make/model ghetto bluetooth into pairing mode.

I'm a Sales Rep. I sell accessories, phones, sign up new contracts, do upgrades, etc. for Verizon. My job is not to fix phones or help with your problems. I usually do help people anyways because there is a lot of downtime and I don't really care. Besides its helps build rapport and keeps customers coming back if I'm helpful. But people that just come in expecting me to do everything when they clearly didn't even read the manual at all is a fucking joke. And I understand that everyone isn't up to date on the current tech, but at least do a little fucking research before you come in. Jesus.

You're in the wrong job. Simple as that. Your job is customer service and yet you are so infuriated by what is part and parcel of that system... You know why you have to do it. You mentioned it yourself. Your company pays you, among other reasons, to establish rapport with customers, whether they buy your products or not, because when they consider their next purchase, maybe your shop is at the top of their list. They sure as fuck won't go to the store with the staff who are arrogant or apathetic or unhelpful (or whatever else the poor sales staff are).

Trust me, I'm exactly the same. I worked casually in a department store for a good three years during university and would be livid when some old cow would tell me to pick pairs of shorts out for her husband without giving me any indication of what exactly he liked...

Perhaps you don't have much choice in terms of employment... but if you do, just get the fuck out.

No, we like other aspects of it, the sales environment, helping people find what they need. Technology in general. But there are people who are so painfully ignorant, when someone is telling me things I know as fact are wrong, then I get pissed. I am here to help you, you come seeking my help. I will be leaving retail soon, I am quite bored with this. I love technology, but I am no longer motivated by a sales/commission environment. I have been considering being a waiter or other career choices which pay MUCH better than my current job. The reason I keep my job now is because I enjoy my down time and the people I work with. Besides that I don't like dealing with most customers, however some are cool and fun and I enjoy trying to fix whatever problems they are having, especially when I can tell they put in at least some level of effort into figuring it out themselves.
