Okay here's what happened today.
I'm not a good swimmer so my dad was teaching me at the pool.
I was training breatstroke so I was using some floating board thingy. The pool was deepest in the middle at around 180cm.
So I was practicing my leg strokes and by the time I passed the mid section, my left leg started to become really painful and it cramped.
I wasn't really panicking but fuck it was painful and luckily I was swimming near the edge and I got to the edge right before the lifeguard actually came to try and rescue me.
Nothing much after that but damn it was really embarassing and its like having that same feeling when I go back swimming again.
But well, I learned today that there are 2 kinds of people. One that run away from their challenges and one that faces all the obstacles and even though its shameful, they go through it all and emerge victorious.
I've ran away from my problems for the past 10 years. I want to change.

Ok but seriously, no pain no gain. Nothing in life is really easy/free gain.
Like for example, you can't just lose weight magically, you gotta work your way: running, working out, maintaining a proper diet.

go back and do it again.
As you mentioned leg injury, I massively fucked my ankle 2 years ago playing softball. Didnt see a doctor and treated it myself to let it heal.
Like 2 months ago i had to run to catch a bus, and almost tripped and ended up putting all my weight on that same ankle, couldnt run or put my weight on it for like, 3 weeks and now whenever i go past a brisk walk i have a 20% chance of losing all ablity to walk to due pain in that leg. Still no doctor and still moving around and its healing against over.
Lesson, tough it up

Let me teach you =P
But yeah, its great u want to face up the problems! Trials are not there to destory you, but to make you triumphant!

You can seriously fuck up your ankle permanently, and I'd highly suggest you see a doctor to find out if you've done just that. Many things are indicative of being a bad-ass, but refusing to go to a doctor isn't one of them, IMO.

Haha trauma is a bit of a strong word. I saved my brother from drowning when he was younger, that didn't put him off swimming at all though and he still swims now.
|
Dno but it just got me thinking alot.
|
|
Broke my collarbone playing indoor soccer, and even though I had it broken, still played (tournament).
And still do.
|
When you're drowning, take a deep breathe and hold it. You'll float to the top of the pool. Relax your body and try to drift towards the edge lol
|
Wait, 180cm? lol? zzzzzzzzzz -_-
|
i remember cramping when i was doing my marathon test for this recreational swimming program.. boy did it suck.
Gotta stretch those hamstrings and eat bananas
|
Hah me and my friends used to eat a bunch of shit before going into the pool and we had leg cramp races in 8th grade. It was hilarious and very VERY painful
|
It sucks getting a cramp like that, sorry about that.
|
You should be able to tiptoe that 180cm.
