Oh man.... I wonder why they only got manslaughter when it was obv murder 1st degree.

Has nothing to do with the pair being gay. Thousands of mothers kill their children every day. You can still argue about homosexuals and adopting childs but a gay couple killig their adopted child has nothing to do with that statement.

Yeah... you should probably read the article, haha. I love how this is going to create bad publicity and be used as a irrational proof of why gays shouldn't marry. It is just that the Gays shouldn't be allowed to have children.
Before you flame me on my beliefs, pay attention to capitalization.

It'll be funny seeing what kind of responses will come from this one.

LOLOLOL if anyone is gonna post I would HIGHLY recommend reading the article, not even all of it just the first paragraph at least. AHHA

My automotive technology technology teacher last name was Mr. Gay. We always joked with him about it but his kids are gonna have it tough. I don't think he did because back then the word didn't have the meaning it does now.

if ppl were as discriminatatory (the good kind) about other issues like how fundamentalism is being turned to mean offensively and uncompromisingly militant, and about how the "freemarkets" are blamed for problems, when in fact we dont' have a free market at all, being completely in the hands of the FED to cause economic turbulence at will, or accident - the entire thing is controllable within their hands.

Could work, yeah.

It could work, but only if a MOD diligently edits any post that gives it away on the first page... It's not going to take long for people to catch on

Just change the url to have a typo then edit it in later.

People could actually see the picture and think it was theirs, and when they figured out that it wasn't, there was incentive to let other people get tricked... With this, you're going to immediately get people going "Hey idiot! Read the OP!" It won't work unless you can edit those comments, and the only way this will actually be satisfying is if people get into a huge debate about gay marriage or something.

tons of people tried to show how the op was working in the facebook thread, but mods just edited/deleted their posts. just get the people on the first page to start talking about gay marriage and like 50% of the people are just going to look at the article and say tldr and just read the comments

It was basically one guy, Frits... Serves you right for not reading the thread?
The thing about the mother actually doesn't sound that absurd to me... You can put your personal values and beliefs into it all you want, but it's not like an adult is raping her 8 year old girl... She's 14, beyond puberty, and as big a dirt bag as the guy is, he's not actually hurting her. This whole idea of sex being so sacred, and people not being able to choose for themselves until they've become functioning adults is really suspect IMO. Having sex isn't going to destroy her life. At least while she's not hiding from her mother, the mother can make sure it's protected sex. It's not ideal, but it's rational and in the mother's opinion, a lot safer than being a hard nosed idiot who does things by the book even when she thinks they won't work.
EDIT: Actually... These articles are so badly written and mundane they don't even seem real... Maybe this 'newspaper' is actually just a big troll :O

On the bright side that is one fashionable way to go.

You should've edited out the warning. It would've made this the thread of the century.

5 years for murder?? isn't that extremely short?

Read the article, it's not murder it was manslaughter, people who are saying it should've been murder are talking out of their asses. There hasn't been any proof found that indicates murder or intentionally feeding him too much salt. The most probable case (which can actually be proven) here is that the kid died because of negligence of the parents, warranting a manslaughter charge. The fact that they rushed the kid to the hospital after makes manslaughter (a little) more likely too.

I find it hard to believe that they didn't know it could be potentially fatal at all. I mean what reason is there to give a small child that much salt?
