haha, okay here's a funny one that happened to a relative of a friend of mine...
They woke up one day and their grill was stolen. They didn't do anything about it, and the next day someone CAME BACK with their grill, and said, "I'm so sorry, I live down the road and our grill broke and we were having a party for our daughter and some of her friends came and took it" So the person gave them tickets to a local baseball game as 'compensation' for the fact that their daughter's friends temporarily 'stole' their grill.
While they were at the baseball game the people came and ransacked the entire place, stealing prettymuch everything.

Yeah, that's it. It's not encouraged but there is nothing there to prevent people getting scammed or help them when they are scammed. I don't think it's about laws but just pure corruption.

The stupid woman got what she deserved. The FBI told her it was a scam and she kept sending them money for a period of 2 years. You cant even call it a scam in my opinion. She knew what she was doing. She willfully gave them money when she knew it was for a fake reason.
