on a serious note, find a hobby... I smoke way too much and my fiance doesn't touch the stuff... we find other things to do together... It helps that she doesn't mind that I get stoned while she is around, but then if she didn't, she prolly wouldn't be my fiance...

Weed isn't addictive... no reason to quit unless you want to, it's not like you're a heroin addict. If she doesn't like weed then you should smoke while she drinks or you can both drink. If she doesn't like weed or alchohol and you smoke everyday, you guys are probably not the best match.
Also since you have a part time job and have only been dating for five months.. you're probably too young and definitely haven't dated her long enough to make any changes for the relationship. It seems like so many people try to force relationships on themselves.. if things are boring and you're posting on a forum looking for stuff to do, then break up with her and find someone more enjoyable.

how about smoking weed is fairly fruitless and pointless at the same time. that is a good reason. and i don't want to hear any hippie reasons for why weed isn't dumb, unless you have severe anxiety and the only thing that calms you is marijuana then you use it for a pointless reason. Weed may not be addictive physically but you can get acquired to the relaxed nature it can give you and find it difficult to function without that when you quit.

as vsrooks above me stated,i dont think weed has physical addictiveness like heroine or crack. I think it's all in your mindstate. I smoked weed for 6 years at some points recreationally, and some other points very heavily. As i entered university, i dropped it cold with no "withdrawals" or cravings to smoke again. You should be quitting for your own quality of life. (ex: health, future,) I think the best way to just drop the habit cold is to keep yourself busy. Pick up new hobbies, find activities you and your g/f can do together, exercise, or pickup smoking rocks.

Weed can be psychologically addictive. I quit every few months when it starts dragging my mood.
It's also known to negatively effect sexual function over time, so maybe you should quit if you want to be a fuck machine.

Eventually your gonna have to quit weed. My last relationship went to shit because we both relied too heavily on weed. We would smoke together from the point we started hanging out for the rest of the night and we really really drifted because when your both high together your mostly in your own world more than a shared world (atleast when you smoke habitually and it's nothing special). Today would have been a year and a half but we broke up a week ago to figure things out. Honestly I know my problems come from me smoking too much (distant, lack of motivation to do new things, complacent) and I'm gonna have to quit and get my brain back on track.

I did that exact same thing... it was really, really good weed though, and she was the one who found it and I had to "throw it away"; only to have me, later on in the night, scavenging in my dumpster XD!
