i want a miniture voice/sound recording device so that i can record my ideas verbally , when i have them , in order that they are retained.

A lot of the cheaper MP3 players (Sandisk) have this function, and they are cheaper than the devices dedicated to do this. So drop like $15 on an old 1 gig mp3 player and you are probably set.

I use a Sony ICD-P520, and it's awesome.

Do yourself and don't get a cheap product like the video. They're fragile, difficult to use, and have poor quality sound. Get a Sony or Olympus. I would go with Olympus, since they seem to have a better rep in this field and have more experience. My last two recorders were Olympus.

I usually don't care about the sound quality with cheap products for this purpose, and I think he may feel the same way because all that matters is that he can record what he says so he can listen to it later.

Also he doesn't seem to blog too much, maybe he just thinks/is online/alone too much.
