i've smoke on and off since i turned 16..so about 4 years now? anyway, i've always gotten the munchies like crazy...and i use to eat A LOT of food. probably like 3-5k calories worth per night of smoking.

I run and have a pretty fast metabolism naturally but lately i've noticed that when i smoke, even if i eat slighty more than i would have sober, i still wake up the next morning with an empty stomache.

I know pot doesn't increase your metabolism but i was wondering if it was plausible that i've conditioned my metabolism to speed up over the years since i've always eaten so much when i smoke.

dumb idea yes/no ?

I guess it's plausible since a lot of psychological assosciations have an effect on the fysical. One may recall the experiment in which dogs that started to drool when they heard a bell since everytime they were fedi nthe weeks/months before the experimenters sounded a bell. So it could be that in your mind assosciates smoking with having to do with your bodyu having a lot of digesting to do. What you could (read: should and tell us about it later) is eat a good meal, start smoking but don't have munchies and see if you wake up starved.

its a normal body function, has nothing to do with pot, when you eat and ur full when u go to sleep, ur body digests it, and ur stumache doesn't shrink so when u wake up u are starving. it's normal, nothing to do with pot

Seriously, like caucasianasian said it has to do with your body just digesting food and nothing to do with pot. besides you don't need science to tell you that after going to sleep then waking up morning you'll become hungry.

To be honest I (and a lot of people) don't experience this. When I wake up, I don't feel like eating for a while save a yogurt or something. After like an hour or two I'm hungry for breakfast.

it depends how full you were when u fell asleep. eat a huge meal tonight, and immedietly sleep, and wake up in the morning to be starving

Same with me. Whether I don't eat anything the night before or devour a horse, I never really have any sort of appetite until hours after I have been actively awake.

It's the opposite for me. If I eat a shitload of things before I go to sleep, I'm not hungry until it's dinner time or w/e ;p

holy shit i was pretty high when i posted this and forgot about this blog completely haha.

ok thanks for the responses but i'll try and make it more clear

I eat a lot all the time before i go to bed. But it seems like I only wake up starving when i go to bed high. Usually i end up eating at least 1.5x as much high too. If it is just a 'normal' body function i am experiencing, then why doesn't it happen all the time? or at least not to the same degree. ( also it isn't just hunger...i don't gain any fat either)

My question, in case i didn't phrase it well, was..
Is it possible that through smoking and eating a lot i have condition my metabolism to speed up.
The experiments Pholon refers to is exactly what i had in mind.

I went from Smoke--->eat------>metabolism increases
to
smoke---->metabolism increases

so once again...plausible or not?

edit: and the FOCUS was not me waking up hungry...it was just one example, there are multiple reasons i've come to believe my metabolism speeds up when i smoke but nothing scientific obviously.
