This is my first blog, and I guess it will suck, but... just read. For Boxer! ^^
I was never a big fan of Starcraft really. I played mostly Counter-Strike 1.6 and other RTS games like Age of Empires, Red alert etc. When I was in eight grade in elementary school, I started playing WoW. First it wasn't that fun really, I just played with some friends for fun, still played mostly CS.
In ninth grade I got to level 70 in WoW, and I started raiding. I played relentlessly, wanted to become something. It wasn't really that fun honestly, but I wanted to get good at something! I started playing when I got home from school to I went to bed. Almost every day.
Then something happened. Blizzard announced Starcraft 2! Me and my friends where like "OMG OMG Blizzard make always good games they make WoW, Starcraft2 must be good!", since we also had played it in our childhood when it first came it, and then dropped it of course like a normal casual player. Anyway I was intereseted in Starcraft 2, so I went on youtube and searched "Starcraft" and I found this video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YrYvj3HZ1I
It was totally awesome and then I saw another video which said "Korean Starcraft Tournament Match" in the "Related videos" bar. This was the video I found:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkzYssPZ9Rs
After that I was totally hooked. I searched on youtube for hours and watched hundreds of Starcraft videos, and most of them was Boxer videos. That was the point when I "got in love" with Boxer. I had played Starcraft before so I was not unfamiliar with the game. I was amazed by the tactics he did and his awesome micro!
Me and my friends installed SC and started playing via Hamachi. Guess which race I picked as my main? Yes, terran. I played on battle.net too, later when I bought it. And the only map I played was LT, and the only tactic I used was Boxers 2 tank drop!
Well, this was supposed to be a short intro about myself and why I love Boxer but I guess it got rather long. :S
If you havent read this, DO IT! This is one of the main reasons I love that guy.
A short summary: Boxer spended his days as kid playing football and arcade games. He didn't work much in school, just having "ok" grades (for us), but since school is so important in Korea he was really a "bum" compared to normal kids. One day he decided to spend his summer vacation together with his friend studying. Here's an epic quote:
"As I headed towards his house, I had no idea that ‘the something that will change my fate’ was waiting for me."
Sounds good?
When got inside his friends house his friend was busy at the computer. He walked over and saw his friend playing a game!
“It’s a game called Starcraft, and it’s awesome.”
“This is a computer game? Whoa…the graphics are impressive.”
"I was captured by its magic- the powerful and undeniable magic of destiny called Starcraft∙∙∙."
Later he picks terran and decides to become the best player ever and beat the number one ranked at battle.net.
"I chose Terran, which was treated as worthless by others, took the dropship, which was considered inferior because of its slow speed, and made it my weapon, developing it and practicing with it over and over again."
How can you not love this guy?
Boxer vs 13 zerg - the most epic of all Boxer videos imo!
The greatest comeback EVER! And Boxer shows what a sportsman he is, going over and handshaking with Pusan.
Boxer sings and dances! This is one of my favorites!
God is in the TV
SlayerS_`BoxeR` the emperor - A good movie made my Spitfire
Boxers ice-cream party - haha Boxer and Kingdom are funny (you can find translation in "more info"if you double click the video so it opens at youtube.com)
Boxer shows his computer
About SlayerS_`BoxeR` - really nice, and I love the music
Lim Yo Hwan - Godspeed
Boxers first visits to the army - Damn army But he's soon back!
An Emperor Returned - Boxer WILL be back!
Boxer has said he believes there can be progamers even to the age of 40, and that he will be the first 40 year old progamer. Boxer will be back, his army service ends 25 december. He's Boxer, he will not give up, that is why he is the Emperor. Boxer has fallen many times, but not once he has surrendered, not once has he given up, but instead fought even harder and returned!
The day Boxer is back in another OSL for his golden mouse, I will go to Korea for sure!
Although he is currently underperforming, if Boxer can bring back even a semblance of competitiveness to his gameplay it would surely bring a lot of energy to the scene.

Boxer was never about the win ratio, though. He's won a lot, lost a lot, but it's his innovative play, whether he wins or loses, that make everyone a boxer fan.
Wow! A blog that ISNT about someones grandmothers girlfriend getting dumped. A blog I actually click on and take the time to read because it interests me!! Unbelievable!! 5/5 Good sir!
Well I started on sc just like you. I can't remember why I searched on youtube something about starcraft and found the same video about Boxer vs Yellow and got interested a lot. Started watching lots of video about him and was amazed. Then I somehow found out about the retirement of boxer (boxerforever.com) and got pretty sad about it... but I was already hooked up. Then I found Jon747 or Violetak videos and started watching them without having a clue about their tourneys and the whole sc community in korea, etc.
Finally I found TL and everything became clear :D
I guess this is the magic of Boxer. He can hook you up to starcraft just by a single video... amazing!
When I was really young (maybe around 10) my friend had purchased BW and I'd go over to his house, chill out, watch him play and occasionally play some UMS myself (didn't have a computer at the time).
Anyway I wasn't very into BW until he showed me a Boxer TvT replay on Lament. Made me love BW from that replay. I got a computer soon so me and my friend did the phone LAN and played TvT all the time.
I stopped playing bw a year after that but Picked up up around 3 years ago when I found SCIndex.com then Blizzforums then TL.net.
