Info On the Razer Salmosa:

"About the Razer Salmosa (China Pro-Gaming Edition)
Co-developed with top Asian pro-gamers, the Razer Salmosa (China Pro-Gaming Edition) is an entry-level ambidextrous mouse and is also one of the lightest mice of its class currently available on the market. Exclusively available in China, the Razer Salmosa (China Pro-Gaming Edition) is customized to the needs of professional gamers in China, specifically designed to deliver high precision in a compact and lightweight chasis.

For more information on the Razer Salmosa (China Pro-Gaming Edition), please visit cn.razerzone.com

Co-development with Team World Elite
The Razer Salmosa (China Pro-Gaming Edition) was co-developed with, and endorsed by, XiaoFeng “Sky” Li, who plays on Team World Elite’s Warcraft III team. Recognized by many as the best Human player, Razer sought out Sky’s feedback in tailoring a highly precise and responsive gaming mouse for pro gamers in China."

Anyways, it's only available in China now. I found someone who could buy it for me in China. I ended up buying a few because of the ridiculous shipping costs. I figure someone out there would be also be interested in buying it. I'm just looking to help cover the costs.

So far, it's a great mouse. It's small like the logitech mini optical, and the sensor is as swift as the Razer DA. I felt my in game accuracy is improving, though it's too premature to be sure. I think I'll grow to like it even more in the future. People should definitely check it out when it's officially released outside of China.

FYI, I had posted one on ebay already. Hopefully it'll sell well because it was pretty expensive to have it shipped across the planet!

I'll bid on it, but two questions:

-> is it brand new? or in other words, is it in mint condition?
-> can you ship to canada, and how much would it cost?

thanks.

It is brand new, never opened. The packaging can be deceiving since it doesn't seem to be sealed tight like you would normally expect in stores for the US. It's just taped on both side, but it's still firmly sealed.

As far as shipping to Canada, I really don't know the rate but it shouldn't be a problem.

edit: I figured out that Standard USPS First Class shipping will be around 10bucks. That's basically 5-7days option, not too bad.

The item is in my hands in the US. But ya I don't see a problem shipping to Canada. It shouldn't be much more, at least nothing unreasonable.

I checked, I think it'll come out to be a bit less than $15 USD via USPS First Class International. I won't know for sure until I package it, but it should be under $15 looking at the rates.

As far as the differences, I believe there'll be a packaging difference between the chinese version and the "normal" version. Since this version is completely packaged differently than what you would expect from Razer products. Also, I'm not sure how many people knows who "Sky" is.

I don't know how much revision will be done with the hardware, nobody knows for sure and nobody knows when Razer will release Salmosa internationally(quarter 3 of '08?). But I personally think nothing will be changed because everything looks as they advertised. It works great, and the 3g sensor has been around for years now. It seems the Chinese release is just to get some quick revenue with quick packaging.

Whats your asking price? I see that Ebay bidding starts at 9.99 but I don't use ebay (nor do I like it) so I'd rather just know your best price and work from there.

I guess at the very least I like to see $45 w/o shipping, I would be losing money already but still it's acceptable.

does anyone know how this mouse compares to the Razer Krait, razer's other small, lightweight RTS mouse?

If you are familiar with some of the other Razer mice, krait is smaller than most. But Salmosa is going to be the smallest and simplest mouse. Take a look at this pic: http://group.zol.com.cn/2/32_10767.html It should give you an idea the size of Salmosa. Apart from having the 3g sensor which new diamondback, deathadder have, Salmosa does not have anything fancy/extra on the mouse. It has basically 2 buttons and a mouse wheel, no extra side buttons(some people love those) and a switch under the mouse that adjusts its DPI. It's a very simple mouse, no flashy lights that krait has. I guess it's a matter of taste, and preference. I think logitech mini optical users will love this mouse, while those who prefers bigger mice will not find it appealing. I hope that helps answer your question.

if it's reasonable, I'll still sell it. I mean even if you buy from China at a store, it's about 30 USD. It's not a big deal taking a loss but hopefully it's reasonable, ya know? And hopefully it's someone who is going to use it, not someone that is going to resell it or something..

After thinking about what I said, I'm going to still sell it at whatever the ending price. I do understand that gamers are poor! But I do hope it goes to a good home with someone who can appreciate the trouble that it went through to get there!
