Seriously though, what's wrong with spoiler threads about the pro scene? Wasn't the Broodwar Forum created so that we can talk about Broodwar?

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=33486 http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=24964 that generated decent discussion about interesting topics. Nowadays we have some kid named Nimsaya who makes threads with a single sensationalist youtube video or article and acts like they're some fucking amazing discoveries that the American people have to know about. I think it's safe to say that the newer generation of posters after 2005-2006ish have been garbage compared to the older. I can only think of a handful of relatively new posters who I enjoy reading and also post regularly. I mean, I realize that the past may seem better just because it's the past and we all have nostalgia. But aside from all the starcraft related improvements TL has undergone, as purely a forum I don't think TL is as enjoyable of a place to post on right now as say 2-3 years ago. Also there's a strong posibility that I'm talking out of my ass but I don't think stimey/chibi should've been banned no matter how neurotic they were, they had been posting here forever and in the end, were a lot smarter than most people who've ever posted on TL. The best time on TL for me in terms of pure forum posting enjoyment was a little bit after I started hanging here regularly, before hot_bid was a mod and was considered just another funny dude, before legionnaire quit progaming, before and during savior became a monster, etc. I was just another flaming asian kid who became fascinated with the magic of starcraft, oh how I miss those days. I'm not saying general should be some sort of academia filled with high level intellectural discussion. Just that I wish we have more intelligent/funny posters and less idiots going on and on about everything from their personal life to starcraft to politics. Who's with me

Hm, agreed there. edit: Does it really bother people that much that a match's outcome has been spoiled to them? It's not like you're going to die if you know what happens in the end, I actually prefer people telling me what happened so I can stop worrying lol

live report threads, hype threads, FE's, PR, all the news posts, and some BW section threads all have good content. edit: interview threads, every thread in featured, some blogs (have you read plexa's?) also have good content. you might also need to learn to immediately identify bad content and then skip over it with strict discipline. many people read all the shitty content out of habit or boredom when they'd be happier simply shortening their time spent on tl.net

Nothing really wrong with it, but I'd appreciate some input aside from the recent pro games. After all, I consider the Tourney section the place to talk about this.. EDIT: Don't get me wrong, I don't want to rant about spoilers in general, as I don't watch so many VODs myself. It's just the quantity of threads describing those games.

The site still provides great coverage of the pro scene, which is what it's intended to do and some very good quality guides still pop up in the strategy section. But recently, there have only been a few threads that really made me think or laugh. I don't know, maybe it's because things become jaded after a while.

You know, it hasn't always been like this. Seems like this has come within the last month, shortly after the end of the TSL. Maybe a lot of quality posters are on holiday?

Maybe if you chose to contribute rather than complain about it TL would be a better place. Listen, I really didn't mean to seriously nag or insult anybody. I really appreciate TL.net, it's the greatest SC site there is and most of the content is interesting. However, I noticed a decline in the quality of non-FE (and the such) posts. I just wanted to see, whether I was the only one noticing it. Really, no offense meant.

I think if you come to TL with some sort of timer in your head, instead of just reading through everything, it's a better experience. I think also, when you are new to the community, all the content seems more fresh and unique - it's only since we've been here so long that it all looks like crappy reruns.

If you have a complain with spam, talk to moderators, but if you're appealing to the community (or just bitching), then really the only solution is to start pulling your weight. Lead by example.

And whats with that dude who thinks it's alright to flood the blogs with mediocre google'd asian women? The best part is that he's one of the most popular bloggers on TL XD I think I've just discovered the reason for all this: SC2 has revitalized TL with 14-15 year old boys!

Hypes don't get anywhere, cuz we have several over a month, so some care about one, some about the other and some just don't. Stupid/funny posts don't get anywhere (except to closed threads maybe) as everyone is afraid of TL.net becoming 4chan. (LP.net is more tolerant to this, so you can try reading their general) Or maybe it just looks so after the storm that was TSL. C'mon, even tasteless faded away during this awesomeness
