What some really good science fiction films involving aliens besides the "aliens" series? I mean there are so many science fiction films with deep powerful messages,complex plots, abstract-philosophical images etc, but I noticed its mostly humans that are the center points of those stories. Mostly all science fiction films involving Aliens are mostly action, or comical in one sense; if they aren't, they're not usually a deep or a unique significant form of art like movies such as Gattaca; well most of the Science fiction movies that involve Aliens that I have seen lately are pretty damn low. Yes Star wars is pretty damn bad, and starship troopers was alright. Pretty much every Sci-fi Alien movie released last year, the year before and the year before that have been total crap. I think pretty much every Sci-fi movie from 2005 to 2008 were crap or did not live up to standards/total dissapointments. I want some more god damn Aliens, like the movies from the 80's.

Titan A.E was alright (then again last time I watched it I was like 12).

I've never seen any Star Trek movies, but they're supposedly pretty good (the older ones at least).

There's Men In Black (then again it's a comedy, so not sure if that's what you're looking for).

Also you can check here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_films_featuring_extraterrestrials Skimming through that list, it doesn't seem as if there are many movies matching your standards =/

I thought the newer Star Trek movies were alright, especially the last one. Stargate SG-1 is really good, but it's a series. Oh yeah, Serenity. I thought that was pretty awesome ^^. I doubt you'll find anything with aliens at the centre of attention. The producers of Star Trek thought about making a series following a Klingon ship but they decided that people wouldn't accept primarily non-human central figures. They're probably correct in their assessment.

There are 100s of good movies with aliens in it. I'm just going to mention "The Thing" because it is very close to what Alien 1 is.

Independence Day

if u like the Alien movies you probably like Horror more than "sci fi", i'd reccomend Event Horizon and 28 days/weeks later.
