First off, the event "starts" at 7pm, but we didn't actually play matches until 8. I just got out of the shower at 7, and took a bus (cuz i'm too lazy to walk) to campus where it was being held. My girlfriend kindly split from me to get me food (which i admit was very very tasty).
When i first got there, i saw a bunch of people on the tables, and it was a lot more organized. There were 4 routers at the main desk in the front of the room, and i signed up my account there to play. I think overall 16 people played or something. It was a very casual environment.
I played around 6-8 games total this night. I'm going to upload all the reps in a rep pack.

Ok, so when i got there, it was a very nice environment. I saw a lot of people i met at one of the thursday starcraft things that i went to. Anthony and his brother Robert was there. I was really surprised because robert apparently came up from san jose (he's still in high school) to play in this event. I was also surprised that conan (superiorwolf) came up to play in this event as well. I was chatting with davidgurt about whats going on in life, and then they pushed me to play on a touchpad. So, that was the first game 0203 of the reppack. I was actually amazed at myself that i got 160+ apm with touchpad. When i usually play in class, i only get around 110, but 160 is higher than a lot of times when i play with a mouse. Anyways, apparently, during the first round, i get paired up with the same guy that i beat with a touchpad. He had to go meet up with his parents, and since he was playing protoss, i was expecting some sort of cheese. He basically went 3-4 zealots and then gas-core, so i made a bunker inside my main, and then marine microed. After a little bit, he just left the game because he had to go. So, there ends my first game.
On a side note, I was preparing to play as Terran for the whole tournament because my ZvP is really really horrendous. I dont know why it is so bad, but on ICCUP, i remember having a 24% win on my C- Zerg account. My ZvZ and ZvT are fine, but ZvP just seems to be really hard for me. Because of that, i was preparing to play T throughout the tournament, as i had strong TvP and mediocre TvZ and TvT.
But, in my next match, i had to play anthony (phase), who is a terran player and he has been playing yosh a lot recently. I didn't realize this until i read his post on TL just now, but i guess his TvT is really good. I remember that i learned TvT from anthony, and although my TvT is decent, i consider his TvT to be far better than mine. So i went to play Zerg, as i had very good scores at ZvT against him. (i was 3-0 or something ZvT against him). Thus, as the game goes in the rep pack, i take advantage of some mis-micro to steal a win from one of the most nerve racking games. Basically, i figured that if i beat anthony, i would be in the money (unless i played yosh the next round).
So, my next opponent was BlackGloop, who i was saying as BlackPoop because my glasses are 4 years old and i couldn't read his name. I'm really sorry about mis-reading your name, and i am deeply sorry for any offense. I honestly couldn't read your name on the screen and by the time u joined the game, i didnt bother to change my mental image of ur name.
Anyways, he wanted to play either TvT, ZvZ, or PvZ. As my PvZ is abysmal, and i didn't have much confidence in my TvT, i prepared for one of my best matchups, ZvZ.
In the first game, i went 12 pool 11 gas, i built an extra drone, which was a mistake of mine. But I dont remember his build exactly, but it wasn't a very aggressive build either. I got really lucky that with my initial lings, and when i got ling speed, i was able to sneak past his lings and score a crazy amount of drone kills. After that, the game was over.
in the 2nd game, we both scouted each other early, so i knew he was going ~9pool ish or 12 pool ish build. Thus, i went 12 hatch at nat 11 pool, and the game was mainly mine after i got mutas out. The early attack by him really caught me off guard, and i was lucky in defending it.
Last 2 games against yosh my mentality was like this:
i won't be able to 4 pool him, because he expects a 4 pool.
1st game: he went 8 rax bunker rush, i went 9 pool, but i didnt capitalize on my early lead and then lost in the mid game.
2nd game: i just lost. period.
anyways, i had a lot of fun, i got 20 bucks to gamestop that i probably will not use, but overall i thought it was a really fun experience. I had a lot of laughs talking about nerdy SC stuff, and it was a very good day overall. I would've liked to take a game off of Yosh, or play more TvP (as i really like TvP), but i guess i have nothing to complain about.
My personal opinions on the best people at that lan:
Yosh
Robert
Supwolf
Phase
<_<
i somehow meandered myself away from supwolf and robert, making me the luckiest SC player alive. =)
I'll probably add more to this as i recall more, but i didn't draw the adrenal glands. I just wrote the words adrenal glands under the picture. (i boxed the picture)
most of my time was spent walking around obsing random people. Obsing yosh was crazy, i didn't even see him build a refinery, and somehow his scv just makes it. I didn't see him unload his dropships, yet they magically unload. It was as if he had a mental link to his units or something. It was really a good sight to watch. I hope we have an even bigger one next time so we can have some fun.
Overall, i think this time the tournament was run really smoothly and efficiently with almost no problems.
Oh, lastly, I played under the smurf TossGuy because thats the name i used on PGT and Bnet when i smurf.
seriously kudos:
AAA for organizing the lan
everyone who showed up and played
everyone who showed up and didnt play
my gf for being supportive of playing SC on a friday night
regrets:
not taking a game off of yosh
not practicing for a few weeks before the event
not playing the team games
Lastly, someone please help me with ZvP. I just can't win no matter how hard i try.
