I've been calculating my taxes for 2007. I worked September-December, so they have essentially been taking out too much for 2007 (although it should be normal again in 2008). When I compensate for the stimulus, I'm getting back 2,200 dollars. Open to suggestions :p

2/5 might not reply to this reply again.

BTW, if my contract finally gets negotiated I might get approximately an equal amount in back pay for the year!

Edit: This is a chance for people to suggest I spend my money in a silly way where I might actually be able to do it for once!

If I needed a new computer right now, I would definitely consider it.

Er? If you mean for my car, then I can only really store so much at one time. If you mean vespene gas, then bringing some ahead of time would be considered cheating.

Hm, same question as with the silver... I mean, I could always invest it by paying down debt... but I'm looking for a more awesome purchase (ya know, in the spirit of beefing up the economy =)

I've recently been following the economy, and things are going to sh*t. You've got major banks collapsing, fed cutting rates on sunday night (then again on tuesday), not to mention they are putting in 300 billion just to keep the banks afloat (last week's news). And before any of that news within the last couple weeks, this is what's been going on:

I'd get it during the summer correction (if there is one, hopefully).

He must have some form of education if hes making $2200 just from tax return.

True, but I still lolled at what GrayArea said. But perhaps, it is (s)he who needs to get an education, preferably in economics, so they can understand why I am not just spending it on the most 'convenient' thing.

This was one of the best suggestions so far, and I will consider it for sure. There's a good chance I'll get a ps3 + a few games, and I might invest in a screen for my projector (rather than a big tv, but that's a possibility at the least).

BTW fight_or_flight I'll look into that, if not just out of curiosity.

I'm actually not like that at all (normally). It's just the perfect excuse to do it for a change. Don't read into it too much.

Edit: The stuff I buy won't be useless, just a bit of a splurge.

As per my blogs recently, I have pretty much all the bowling equipment I need at the moment (save a new ball to replace my missile this summer, and possibly that soda hat...?) and I'm also not that big into vacations, but I do usually like bowling. Although last weekend I wasn't too happy haha.

Got another tax return. This time around it is $1782.37. It's less than last year because I worked the full year rather than coming in in September, so the deductions were a little more reasonable. Still, I'm getting back quite a bit. I'm going on a cruise over the summer and this will more than cover it :3
