I feel my play is pretty solid, just needs to be sped up a bit. I play as the rather uncommon IC, so I'll have a bit of an advantage, I think.
Ah, its not for another 3 days and I'm already nervous!

Whenever I ask anyone who hates on wave dashing, they can't give a proper answer. Maybe because everyone around my area that plays Smash sucks.

I am well aware of the tournament scene and feel I am capable enough to make the top 3 at any local tournaments.. Already, just on campus I am undisputably the #2 player (although I can beat the #1 about 40% of the time, and once I perfect wobbling, who knows?) My main problem is that I just get super nervous in tournaments and don't play as aggressively as I need to t.t

I never said he couldn't either, I said IF. Meant no disrespect. And ZaplinG, then it sounds like you got a good chance to show some skills ;D Good luck, tell us how it goes! About nervousness, smoke a bowl (if you can still play well under that effect) or meditate or what not [: It helps me sometimes when I play Soul Calibur tourneys.

I also have a couple counterpicks i could use if i needed. I have a decent Sheik/Peach/Dr.Mario Right now I'm just clocking some major practice hours trying to get ready ![]()

I don't know what to tell you then in terms of cooling off... Stress balls? Getting a good night's sleep beforehand? Just go in with the intention of having fun and not winning, and if you keep to that mentality I think you won't stress over mistakes that are bound to happen. Good luck once again.

The tournament is in North Carolina at Appalachian University. As far as I know, they take walk-ins. I think its 10$ to get in for non-club members (free for me, though, since I was invited) On February 22 2008 08:28 ShaLLoW[baY] wrote: Man I remember seeing somewhere a way to desync the IC so that one grabbed the enemy while the other smashed him downwards with its hammer, KO if they're near the edge :p Yeah, desynching IC is crucial. They wouldn't be worth playing if they couldn't do this ![]() On February 22 2008 08:41 Scorpion wrote: I'm going to that tournament. Bring your game, sir. My marth is the best around(some say its almost as good as Ken's Marth(not to brag or anything but that's what the guy said when I beat him @ finals) so train your Sheik =D :O What name do you go by when smashing? If you truly are that good, I may know you already ^^ On February 22 2008 08:50 JohnnyHazardous wrote: I notice that a lot of players that play IC/Sheik/Peach/Dr. Mario as their main also like to play the other three. Weird... Well, IC have a tough time against marths, so they pick up sheik as a counterpick. Also, some slob stages suck for IC, so they pick up peach as a counter for that. As for doc, I have no idea, haha. I just use him as a unpredicted counter against fox/falco (his cape wrecks them).
