geography plays a huge part in deciding value of homes, not to mention texas isn't as developed as nj. so you can't take apples and compare to oranges. you can say the same thing for NYC, socal, and chicago compare to the "great lonestar state." where nyc has $1000 per/sq feet.

so the total hatred towards nj probably has deep personal connections.

nj is a great place to live, minus the taxes and insurance. everything else, to the north you have the nyc metro, and the south has the philly metro. to the west are the shores. and close vincities to the mountains for skiing... yes, i live in nj <3

What? We're not talking about El Paso or San Antonio. Houston, Dallas and Austin are all highly developed, plus they're technology hotbeds. Seriously, Austin is one of the nicest cities in the country and this is coming from someone who hates the Longhorns.
