Why would you want to quit it entirely? Is there no more time left to play a game or two? I consider myself a rather busy man, but still, I always find some time to play BW. Ofc I think you should spend time with your gf and family first, study/work for whatever you have to, do some sport and stuff, but if after those things, there's time left, I don't hesitate to play BW.

Good for you man. If you have quit so much, and are quitting now, you clearly want to move on, so I wish you luck with it. Try to find something to fill the gap.

All addicts do not come back, drug-victim! I quit, and I was into the game very heavily for 5 years. Now I've been off it for 2 years, and I don't regret it at all. I'm happier in so many ways...

I have a much better social life. After being free of BW for a few months, I met my first GF at age 22. I've had 6 girlfriends in the last 2 years, and one year long relationship. Now I am seeing this beautiful blonde girl. I don't have many friends, but my friends are eclectic, eccentric, interesting, and we appreciate each other much.

I am far more physically fit - I bicycle and exercise every day. I don't get sick as much and I feel a kind of strength and confidence that comes from being fit.

I have much more time to put into music, which has always been a far bigger passion than BW. And I have time for other interests. I can stay more mentally sharp.

BW is great, and I think there is nothing wrong with being into it. But for me it was clearly a dead end, and it seems to be for you too. Embrace something new, and don't be impatient - change takes time.

The fact that you've already tried like a thousand times leads me to think that this will be another failure. Seriously, you can't quit, might as well keep playing, just not as much as you're probably doing.

Moderation and planning I think are good..

I try to play BroodWar for 2 hours a day or so, plus replays and VODs or live casts, but I'm also doing alright at the university, cycling, power lifting, and foot races, while trying to learn two languages simultaneously.

Although I don't always get to everything, I think with proper organization it's possible.

Anyhow, if you just really want to quit, I guess that's okay too. Good luck with whatever you choose!

If I can at least manage, you can too, I kind of suck at organization.

Thx for all the comments and the words of support. The best was "You didn't quit BW, BW quit you" :D, GOLDEN. Nah, but really. This time I think it's for good or at least longer than my longest break which was 3 months. I simply don't have time for all my activities, school, work, GF and friends. I will still visit TL.net and follow proleagues. I even broke my SC and BW cd's.

Ok, so it's been exactly a month since I played BW for the last time. So far so good. I only had one really big urge to play which I overcame by watching New York Knicks game( complete waste of time by the way). Going for 2 months mark. Wish me luck!!!
