Christmas is coming up and a couple of friends want to get me something so I was thinking either a DS or a PSP. I just wanted some opinions from people who own either one of them. I compiled a short list of pros and cons for each:
DS: +Smaller than PSP. +More battery life, I think? +Much prettier; less chance of screen getting fucked up since it opens up. +Interesting games: Mario Kart DS, the new Zelda game. +Cheaper than PSP. +Like 10 of my friends just bought DSes on Black Friday to play the new Zelda game so I'll have lots of people to play with -_- -Look like an idiot poking a stick at a screen. -Most games are pretty cheesy IMO.
PSP: +Lots of games I want to play, primarily FPS. +Music + Video capabilities. But that's covered by my iPod ... -Supposedly dies easily. Lots of dead pixels? -More expensive than DS. -More crap you have to buy; carrying case or a cover or w/e since the screen is damn big and the case it comes with supposedly sucks.
Anything I missed? Anything I should know about for each? I'm leaning towards the DS route but I want some TL.net opinions :D

DS DS DS DS DS DS DS DS DS DS!
PSP has some good games, but the touch screen is far too much fun to give up.

N-Gage baby
but serious, DS can be really fun especially if you commute alot

Taking advice from Canadians seems like a REALLY bad idea -_-
Hahaha just kidding; I'm probably gonna buy the DS now Thanks~

DS is for the win.
Get an R4 while u're at it.

I also want to get a handheld console, but I haven't made up my mind yet.
I have a Wii though and whenever I buy a game for it, I end up feeling ripped off in the end. PSP on the other hand has some epic RPGs, but the games are like $10 more than DS games and PSP costs almost as much as a home console

Why on earth would you want to play an FPS game on a handheld? I get angry just imagining what it would be like.
|
how much do these things cost?
|
I wouldn't use a PSP even if someone else payed it for me. Go with the DS.
|
its a waste of money, ull ditch it soon after. i suggest save ur money and get a console later on

Well, obviously it's not like playing DoD on the computer, but I played Battlefront 2 on the PSP and it was hella fun :D
And PSP is for black people

Iv e never really used a DS much, but PSP is pretty nifty. Played my buddys a few times. Although personally, hand helds arent my flavor =p

buy a DS and get one of those memory cards that let you put roms on it, makes it worth every penny =D
|
My opinion I think hand0helds are a waste of money. Spend your money on something else.

Listen to Chill, he knows his stuff

PSP + Memory card = mp3 + video player
Oh yea it plays games too, comparable to a ps2 in your hands, with one less joystick.
|
if you buy an R4, you can play videos + mp3s on your DS too. There are many innovative games, and FPS is better on the DS, although there aren't that many. Metriod Prime Hunters is the only good one I can think of.
Plus multiplayer is way better~

DS is so much better than PSP, i cannot stress this enough.
|
You have some nice friends, the emulators you can get on DS is good, and so is the internet access you can do to play people. PsP has alot more games and more of sports but not as creative, keeping it with the regular playstation, nintendo is out of the box though, if you like creativeness, DS is the one for you

Im bored with the ds i wanna a psp
