you're supposed to just ask her out right away and if shes a smoker and you can't handle that don't go out with her anymore

you shouldn't be evaluating your long term future with her when you haven't even asked her out yet

you abstain completely from drinking? why? going out for drinks is a great way to meet and socialize with people, you don't need to get shit wasted but it's something that will help you make friends in college and definitely later on in life

I haven't been offered any alcoholic beverage, but if the opportunity comes i'll consider it.

lol, your reasons for hating smoking and yet not minding drinking are messed up. drinking is evil too. and only slightly more widespread.
Andy way, just show her a good time and then elope to the black forest. once she is in love with you she will stop smoking because she has better things to fill the spaces.

I'm sure she's smoking because she wants to. Maybe I'm sheltered, but I've never met a smoker that pushed cigarettes on another person. In fact, most of the time they're happy for people that've escaped the addiction. If a nonsmoker or someone who just quit asks to bum a smoke off me, I'll ask them if they're sure, and if they say they are I'll give them one-- I'm not gonna give them a hard time for doing what I do-- but that's a far cry from getting someone back into smoking.

As a smoker, I should say that dating someone that finds smoking disgusting is not fun, especially if they're vocal about it, and they always are. If you don't like her smoking, stop considering dating her. There's more non-smokers than smokers in the world, find someone to date that doesn't disgust you. I mean, you could say the same stuff about a fat chick, but figuring out how to get with the fat chick wouldn't seem reasonable, would it?

"I met this really nice, pretty girl my age that I'd love to date. Problem is... she's fat. I've told her to lose weight, but she doesn't want to. When I hang around her and her fat friends I feel out of place. And when I see her eating, I'm disgusted by it. But we connect well together and I think we could make it well together. How can I get with this girl? I wish she'd stop being fat."

Just keep your eyes open for a nonsmoker that you can connect with. You're young, your personality hasn't really hardened completely, should be pretty easy as long as you're outgoing. If this girl you like quits smoking again, you might wanna pounce, but don't hassle her about it.

smoking is fucking disastrous for girls. its bad for their image and life. I'm a smoker an i wouldn't let my gf go near a smoke store. i know its hyprocritical but seriously, don't let a girl smoke.

No reason to get tangled up if clean is your preference. But I'd say a lot of people at arts schools take a hit of something now and then. Theoretically wind players shouldn't smoke but yeah.

Out of curiosity, where are you in school, if you'd like to answer? In Germany or elsewhere? I'm not sure how it works in other countries, but the timing of when high school and college kids started for your school seems rather like it does in the U.S.

Ah, yeah. I know some kids at NCSA and I think the one in college just got back there, so I was thinking there was a very off chance that you are there.
