Recently i visted a LAN Party, a commercial and big one, which I did not for some years. Since I always considered Counterstrike for LAN Parties what Cancer is for humans I only applied for Starcraft and Quake 3 Contests. I "pinged" the LAN Forums how many ppl still play SC after all, if the contest would even launch, and was happy about some replies.
On the LAN I was pretty stunned how many girls and women you see on LANs nowadays, and not just those visiting their geek boyfriends, no they really played. Okay it's not like really many girls but like one or two each row of seats. And thinking back some years where *any* girl on a LAN was an attraction, yes this were many girls.
It also made me think of one of my early girlfriends that I actually met on a (private) LAN where she smashed my in Warcraft II, and not becaues I sucked .. I was at least "okay". Beeing impressed (and still somehow ashamed) I got interessted and things started. I was *really* happy that i could beat her in most other games but she still was a tough opponent.
Back to the present, on the LAN i started walking arround and breath some "LAN Spirit" and looking for the ppl that replied to my SC Thread. One of them was, a girl. Since she only wanted to play LT and played Protoss I did not think too much about that .. until we played. She defeated my in two matches, and not close matches.
Inluding anothe 2on2 Starcraft loss on a LAN against a Team with a girl (this was a 4 pool) that makes it three "events" of this kind ..
So I just wanted to know, if there are others arround sharing this "strange" kind of pleasure beeing smashed by girls?
Some girl I was seeing at the end of last semester was real into tetris. I used to play it a lot, so ifigured i'd be fine. She fucking curb stomped me and no sir, I don't like it.
i think the issue is definitely not gender, but skill level. most of the time, when someone mentions female gamers (esp bw), there tends to be the assumption that they're noobs. i don't think that many people would beat themselves about it if they lost to tossgirl 1v1.
im more intimidated by loosing to 9 year olds to be honest >_<. but alot of times when i go to the arcade and if i see a girl playing tekken or something, no one else dares try to play against her because they're afraid they'll loose ahahahaha
I am coaching two girls in Starcraft at the moment. They haven't beaten me yet, but one of them beat a friend of mine in PvsP recently, in an epic game. I was very proud. I myself usually only get beaten by girls at monopoly, which really gets to me, since when it is all male, I virtually always win, but as soon as a female joins, I lose, terribly. Girls destroy my monopoly luck

Err...can't remember the nick...I know it was on Neo Bifrost and she did some strange tech and got wtfpawned...the early days of PGT season one.
Ah yeah got it, 'twas carot[gm]
isnt she still on the Samsung Khan roster? oO
I must say I have absolutely no idea...
Well I loved to watch the girl leagues when they were still held...it was fun. Although, some of them weren't better than a mediocre ladder-player, I think carot was one of the better ones (along with Navy and Tossgirl)

Hrm, computer game wise I'm yet to lose to a girl in anything other than Dance Dance Revolution, and that was still pretty close. Not too many girls I know are really interested in gaming, however.
On the topic of losing to girls though, I got beat up by a girl in a mixed gender martial arts Tournament a few weeks back; although I still put a lot of that down to not being comfortable punching her in the face. 'twas still embarassing, infront of hundreds of people and everything.

haha lol progamers aren't included! i assume yellow was embarassed cos tossgirl had an abysmal winrate, although yeah, her being a girl probably made it harder to accept.

You should have punched her in the tits. GG females ever trying to fight.
On topic, I wish there were any gamer girls where I lived. Most of them are fucking posers. There was one girl who supposedly was hot and played Starcraft when I was an 8th grader. My friends(9th graders, when I was an 8th grader) would say how she's really good at Starcraft, and really good looking.
Sadly, I never got to see her/play her on Starcraft. ;_; I've never lost to a girl in any game, except maybe in Smash(but, I was super-hardcore newb when I played her, and she was newb also but she had been playing a little longer than me).
On topic, I have been beaten many times by girls on sc. Some are good, some are bad. I usually even prefer playing vs them, seeing how most I have met are very GM. No shame for me though, gender doesnt impartial your ability to play... If I had lost on iron hand, boxing, or wrestling to some skinny girl, then Id go home and rethink my life o.O

Like I already said... Been there, done that, except it was mixed martial arts. She was almost 8 inches shorter than me and probably 50-60 pounds lighter, too. Then again, in martial arts girls and smaller people are probably at a slight advantage. Yeah... I'll just keep telling myself that; maybe it'll come true.

QFT Except yellow, he lost to tossgirl to get in her pants.
No excuse. He should have smashed her mercilessly and carried her broken, beaten body to his bed. She would not be able to resist his display of power.

ive never understood the big deal about losing to a female in anything, especially if its a videogame where theres no physical advantage whatsoever. Most girls just suck at everything competition related so it would be like losing to a bad player/athlete or something, its no different if they are male or female. If they are good they are good if they arent they arent.
