It was a typical day at work and after I've decided to go to the movies with some friends and my cousin. We were going to watch Gentlemen a film by Guy Ritchie. So the film ends and after exiting the cinema and going to the parking lot, I realize something horrible. My whole car was gone. poof. Like some magician was doing a prank on me and taken my car. At first I was like maybe I've parked it somewhere else but NO, I soon realized I arrived at the parking lot at the same time as my cousin and I had parked my car behind his car. Now it gets worse, I soon realize I had my work's equipment at my trunk! My whole business ruined in one night. I call the police and the first thing they tell me to do is go to a police station and file a report. I always leave my work equipment at my home but this one time I did not even think about leaving it at home since I finished work and we went to the cinema right after. Exactly one week has passed and I have no news from the police. My hopes are very slim of finding my work's equipment and every time I think about the whole thing I wanna cry. I am also going through a divorce for the past 7 months so this was another blow to take. Some say when u reach at the bottom then you slightly start to rise again. My car was a nissan qashqai 2018 model and I got it brand new. I can't believe it is still so easy for car thieves to easily copy your key and take your car like it was theirs. I do not care for the car so much since the insurance company will pay money to cover it but the equipment I had in there was worth more than the car. I have a loan running for that equipment and I have to pay for it 500 euro each month. Now I am facing 2 solutions. Either find another unit to buy and with my father's help get another loan or work for a company that offered me a job with like 1300e salary. In the second scenario only the loan I still have and also the alimony for my kids would be around 900 euro each month so I will basically work for 400euro, with this kind of money I can't even rent a house on my own and I will have to keep leaving with my parents which at the age of 35 sucks. Maybe the police eventually finds my car tho and also with some research will be able to find the equipment. Anyways I just wanted to share this with all of you, going through some tough times and just be careful of where you park your cars and leave your precious belongings, I really got a lesson learnt this time.
ps: BW has really helped me not think about it alot and I kinda start becoming better at it. I also met a practice partner which always kicks my ass but we have fun games. I also think it is a she but not sure. her/his nickname on twitch is jessie. dunno if she/he writes here. so hail jessie and thanx for playing 1v1s with me~.

Follow up question: What the hell do you do? I was thinking like maybe your equipment was like a notebook and a good camera or sth. Damn was I wrong

Do you have any insurance that would cover the stolen equipment? In the US I believe that your homeowner's insurance covers items stolen from inside your car. Do you have anything like that in Greece?

At least you have your health. Try to remember stuff is just stuff. Glad StarCraft is helping you take your mind off things. Hopefully some opportunity comes along that can make up the finances.

Sorry to hear that man, I recall your posts about trying to fix your marriage and it was really apparent that you’re a decent man trying your best for your kids and not throwing your wife under the bus and saying she’s some horrible person, as lesser people would do. You struck me as someone who ran into problems that couldn’t be resolved ultimately, but you never let that seep through into bitterness.
I’m sad to hear of this latest setback for you as I really felt for you from your previous blog posts and as a separated parent myself.
While moving back with one’s parents seems a backwards step, sometimes it’s the only one and don’t let it impact on your self-esteem. Fleeing the nest is an important benchmark in adulthood but sometimes it’s just not practical. Myself I am going back to school, no student loans and have to pay up front so I really can’t afford to do it any other way. I could let the living at home thing bother me or consider it a practical necessity for a particular set of circumstances.
For what it’s worth I‘m rooting for you man, best of luck from the bottom of my heart.
