In many ways I agree with you, I think the whole economic system has its priorities backwards, there is no value in making a robust sustainable product as you can't sell a new, better version next year. Hence the market priorities making cheep low to mid value products with short shelf lives and/or planned obsolescence. The sad reality though, is that you can't change this system from the inside, as in you won't change the corporate culture at any company. Even if you make it your goal to become CEO, you'll still be beholden to the will of their shareholders if its a publicly traded company and they will undermine and sack you at the first hint of you hurting their profits for quality. The only way this system will change is by more people trying to make sustainable businesses by building stronger and more robust products and by bringing real innovation. | ||

Retreating from an industry because of moral choices some make therein that you then project on the whole is childish and with that reasoning no industry will look appealing ever. Also, try to increase the clarity and information density of your posts, as it is more pleasant to read a short concise piece of text conveying it's message clearly. | ||
