LRSL Super Tournament Finalist Interviews

LRSL eSport’s Mizenhauer sat down with the LRSL Super Tournament finalists in hopes of digging up something actually entertaining thereby preventing Wax from inevitably taking his job.

So, Luolis, it’s been awhile since we last spoke to you. What have you been up to since our last interview back in LRTL?

Well, I’ve just done nothing special except for the last month where I actually touched sc2. Basic stuff, basic stuff.

LRSL has played out exactly as we hoped (not scripted or fixed I promise) and you’re in another final against Durn. Have you been looking forward to a chance at revenge?

Can’t lie that I haven’t. Hopefully his dark gods don’t give him seven TvTs and I should be fine.

So it’s TvT, not TvP that scares you this time around?

Yeah pretty much. I figured out TvP when I found out hellions are actually pretty good now that MSC is gone.

What are you expecting out of Durn in the finals?

I think he just plays his standard stuff with maybe one build to snipe Luolisbuild. I think he’s not creative enough for some cool cheeses.

How are you planning to celebrate if you dethrone the bonjwa and shed the mantle of kong?

That’s a good question. Maybe a kebab and beer, I dunno. Some extra drinking at assembly afterparty? All is open :D

A random note, do you feel the LR Super Tournament was too long, not long enough or just right?

I haven’t minded the pace really. I guess it could’ve been faster, but well, it hasn’t made a huge difference.

Moving away from LRSL, what are you hopes for Serral in GSL vs The World?

Serral #1

Do you think you could beat Serral with the Luolis Build if he played on 50% handicap?

That’s a tough one. He’s godtier but then again 50% handicap is rough. I’ll say it’s possible, but not the percentages :D

For the unenlightened, could you give us a short explanation of the origins of the Luolisbuild and some of the common variations?

In 2013 I was at Assembly Summer and there was an asus rog tournament. I was watching Naama play, because Naama was my favorite player. In map one he did a sick build with marine drop/hellion/banshee harass that culminated into a push and he won. I wanted to do that as well and noticed that if I make it a 2-base allin with 7 rax (this was back in HotS) it actually beat pretty good players. Then I just kept doing it and it kinda worked. There’s also a mech allin from 3 bases with the same opener and some builds I’ve mostly abandoned because they suck. There’s also a reaper opener 2-base build that isn’t Luolisbuild although you guys call it that ;D.

I’m glad you cleared up the confusion on the reaper opening. That was really keeping me up at night.

Enough StarCraft II talk, I’ve had a burning question I’ve wanted to ask for a long time. Are Finnish song lyrics as bad in Finnish as they are in English or is this one of those lost in translation type things?

That’s a rough one. I’ll say in some cases it’s more lost in translation but what I listen to might not have exactly poetic lyrics.

That’s an understatement.

A final question. Let’s say you are the first line center on the Shitposter’s discord hockey team. Who would you pick as your linesmen?

Damn, thats the hardest question so far. I’ll probably take RTK as one winger because I’ve teamplayed with him before. The other winger will be, well, let’s say ITH. He’s Canadian and we have nice memes in discord.

You know, I’ve always said that Intotheheart reminds me of the classic hockey goon/enforcer.

Yeah we’d probably be the real physical line even though we’re the first line. Tells about our skill level? :D

Why don’t you update us on what’s been going on with you since LRTL “wrapped up”.

Not much, really. I passed my exams, played SC2 on and off (mostly off), as well as other games. I also update the “best games list” for Waxangel.

Which of those would you consider to be the greatest accomplishment?

Updating the best games list. Do you know how annoying it is to link twitch VODs? Get your shit together Basetrade, update that Youtube channel in a reasonable time.

Let’s talk about legacy. What would it mean to be an LRSL and LR Super Tournament champion?

It would mean I won as many starleagues as Maru won GSLs!

Others feel this way, but do you feel like you’re approaching Bonjwa status?

You can’t really be a Bonjwa by winning two tournaments. Just ask Rogue if he is a Bonjwa.

I don’t know if he’d field my calls.

What does being a bonjwa mean to you? Would it change your daily life? Would you get more girls?

Dominating a dead scene doesn’t mean much to me, so it wouldn’t change my life much. And I definitely wouldn’t get more girls.

What will you buy with the 49 dollar first prize if you win the event?

I’d probably just put in my bank account. I don’t need to buy anything these days.

That’s mildly depressing and incredibly responsible.

Looking to GSL, who do you think is winning this season?

It’s season 3, so INnoVation, I guess? Maybe herO can darkhorse his way to a GSL victory too if he gets back to his normal level.

If INnoVation wins, is he the GOAT?

I guess he would be, but I don’t really care. Certainly not the GOAT of entertainment, that goes to GuMiho.

I hope GuMiho puts that on his tombstone.

A final question, if you had to pick a five a side team from the shitposters discord, who would you include?

Elentos and Ej are the two obvious picks. Phred is a bro so I’d pick him too. And then… GumBa and Viper so they can debate forever.
