No need to apologize, yours was actually one of the easier comments to digest. Needless to say, I failed to portray Matt accurately as virtually no one who read my story felt any sympathy for him. All the sympathy fell on the housemate who I left un-named hoping that she wouldn't be discussed much in the comments (her name was Morgan) who has once again found a way to draw not 1 single criticism despite how I felt my story quite fairly portrayed her in a very negative light (same thing she was able to do in real life, interestingly).

At a certain point, these men have to be responsible for their own mistakes. And yes, I'd say it's a mistake to spend a huge amount of time and effort on someone who isn't going to ever love you, if you expect a relationship in return. There's no problem with being selfless and charitable if you expect nothing in return. Some girls will take full advantage of men who are generous to women they like with no remorse, but others just are naive, and think they've established a boundary of how far the relationship is going to go and that the man respects that, little knowing that the man thinks he will overcome that with money or time. If someone is naive, they're not purposefully being cruel.
In Matt's case, there was something he was going to get in return, which was sex. I know I've said this, but where I feel you went wrong was that you should've just evicted her and gotten her out of your life if you felt like this was a negative thing. Almost correct! I started trying to write an addendum that attempted to portray Matt as the guy like in these 2 memes because he was a typical lovestruck guy who was being strung along by Morgan. (by the way, they had been friends long before I met either of them and met in high school)
Then I decided to just take my post in a different direction entirely. I decided to just create a new blog post instead which I linked to in the same post. In fairness I should have went back and deleted the memes since they were no longer relevant or had any tie-in to the rest of my post.
So I respectfully thank Jae_Zedong and Ninazerg for their valid, constructive criticism. I should have been more on point!

Yeah, I mean there's probably an element of truth in that (not the threesome part, lol) but I guess I felt some bitterness to how she treated Matt and could use him so callously and accept plane tickets and all that jazz when he never had a true chance with her at all.
Most women just give you a persona of who they really are (like Morgan did to Matt) and it's pretty damn brutal once you see how little they care about a guy who is in love with them. It's a lesson in reality.
