Ice Archives Pt 11
Hey all i know its been a long time since my last blog but its time i start writing them again.
it would be near on 8 months since my last blog and its hard to recall it all so I'm going to keep the recall to a minimum and just cover the important parts from SC2.
Mid September 2016 there was a Melbourne LAN hosted by Probe the god himself. I unfortunately didn't get any photos of the day but it was a great day where my teammate at the time Rize finished 3rd. PiG won the LAN and Seither finished second. My personal result was a poor showing i think i got top 20 but I'm not sure.
From Jan - March this year SYF participated in SOTL (Sea Open Team League), the league was great to play in and it fed the passion of our players resulting in big improvements unfortunately we didn't win the tournament. After going undefeated in the groups we expected a bit more in the playoffs but unfortunately things didn't go our way. I played twice in the group stage going 1-1 and played once in the playoffs and went 0-1.
April 14th - The QUT LAN. At the time I didn't know it but this would be my last offline event for SYF gaming. I flew into Brisbane on Wednesday the 12th where good friend and manager at the time INSANO met me at the airport. From the airport we went and got a feed. We went to GETTA Burger and oh boy did I get a burger this thing was huuuuge and I struggled to finish it aha. The next day Insano had to work so I ventured into Brisbane CBD to get some pre LAN prac in and meet my teammate HuT (YTB) after spending most of the day at the pc cafe we went to a dive bar named Fats haha quite fitting for me to be going to a place called fats

Friday was the day of the LAN we rocked up all in our SYF Swag, got setup and awaited the brackets to be released. Now this couldnt be an ANZ bracket without a team kill so we were all expecting atleast one but not in the first round i got seeded to play vs my good mate and teammate Chase. He beat me 2-0 but the score doesnt replicate how close i felt the series went. I felt I was playing well and was confident of going on a LB run. First up in the LB i played Lumiya and the games were pretty straight forward. I was able to push through with a 2-0 win and move on to the tit man himself HOTBIGTIT. Now we have history at LANs i knocked him out of the melbourne LAN with Oracles something to this day he still dislikes me for so he was seeking revenge. I once again passed the test with a convincing 2-0 and moved on to take on another player I have a bit of history with. Chadmann and myself have had a rivalry for a while now whether he likes to admit it or not he always likes to beat me. After a back and forth series i advanced to the top 6 with a 2-1 victory over Chaddles. That was where my run ended unfortunately as i lost to yours on the day 2-0.

Overall it was a great event and i cant wait for the next one was really well run by TheMightyOne.
After the LAN we went to a KBBQ place as LAN traditions go this is one of if not the best. Going out to dinner with the other players enjoying the night. Before that night I had never had Soju before, safe to say I underestimated it aha. Andy and myself were knocking back shots of the stuff and I remember thinking this stuff is weak lets get another bottle so we did and then another one aha. It hit me like a freight train I was legless and I don't remember alot after the car ride back to INSANO's oops ahah.
Which brings us to the latest event.
May 21st - It was with a heavy heart I left SYF Gaming. The guys at SYF were like a family to me and it was extremely hard to make the decision to leave but it was one that I had to do if I wanted to progress as a player. MKR and Pxlse are two of the greatest top end managers and SYF is in great hands with those two kicking goals at the top cant wait to see what they get done. To my former teamates I love you all and I wish you the best in and out of the game you're all champions in my eye. Special shoutout to Crimson, Rize and Mightykiwi you 3 really helped me along the way and I know you guys are close to huuuuge breakthroughs. And MASSIVE thanks to the main man himself INSANO, matt you seen something in me 1.5 years ago when i was only an academy player you put your faith in me and let me join SYF i hope i was able to repay the faith.
