Most of you know me, who know me at all, are the players on DotA who know me as VIPER, a low MMR troll who exclusively plays BM and usually says stuff like "#1 BM NA".
#1 BM NA was always hilarious to me because a capital M looks like a lower case W, and I loved Starcraft: Brood War.
I was pretty good at BW, but I doubt anyone remembers me. My big claim to fame back when I did the Brood Wars was somewhere in the top 200 on PGTour. I quit the game around the time it got popular and you didn't have to upload all your replays manually.
Anyway, I was playing BM, as usual and found myself playing the same way I usually play. Usually I take two lanes to myself, set up wards, and walk around until I'm level 25. Most heroes can't do this, but that's why I play BM.
I was thinking back on the earliest days of RTS gaming, and what Tasteless was saying the other night about Protoss boats. Wouldn't it have been great if SC2 included hovercrafts, vehicles or infantry, or air units capable of traversing water and land, but incapable of scaling cliffs?
Personally I hope that after BW remastered, Blizzard releases a "Necromancer" for SC2, like a fourth expansion, and that it includes hovercrafts. Hovercrafts would add so much to the game, and would even make Terran boats possible (if Blizzard wanted to go that route).
Personally I love BOATS, mainly because it sounds hilarious when you say "BOAT" and for me, as an aside, it would be great to include boats just so I could hear tastetosis talk about boats.
But yeah, I'm serious about hovercrafts, and I think these would truly create a dynamic beyond measure in the Starcraft universe.

You know I literally have no thoughts at all about SC2 balance. I have no idea what I would say to David Kim. I'm amazed I have no opinions about SC2 balance.

Just imagine the glory of hovercrafts being proxy warped in as the protoss variant of mule dropping. It'd be great 10/10.
As for balancing an rts game. I think people should accept the fact that it's nigh impossible except for some freak accident like broodwar. With that in mind they should just make balancing easier on themselves by balancing per matchup, or we get stuff like a pvz corruptor buff changing zvt. Just my two cents.

Yeah man, but do take things seriously. I think the Corruptor, by its name and nature is mostly a homage to Mutalisk micro in BW and is aimed mostly at ZvZ. Corruptors make a major difference in the ZvZ matchup if they lead Mutalisks, and it may be an effort to introduce more variety in ZvZ. Although by definition changing the meta in ZvZ is an impossibility, changing the per match dynamic is a possibility that Starcraft has always displayed.
