Ice Archives Part 10 & Pigsty

Hey everyone it has been about a month and a half since my last blog. I always have trouble thinking of where to start when i write these blogs haha. So i guess ill try go in a Chronological order this time. My last blog was on the 20th of June so its been a while but i remember writing in that blog that my grandma had been taken into hospice and that she may not have much time left with us. Sadly the worst happened 5 days later :'(. I always remember people saying you don't know what its like to lose someone untill it happens and they were right. There is an emptiness that can't be filled. Whether it be to ring her to tell her something great that has happened or just asking advice. I was honored to be asked by my grandfather to do the eulogy and i hope i did grandma and the family proud by the eulogy i done. I miss grandma every day but its something that makes me stronger. I try to honor her memory by sharing the love to others the way she did trying to go out of my way to make people smile and be happy . I know she's watching down on me and i hope to make her proud with everything i do.

I know that this was a somber way to start the blog but now i can focus on the good things :D. Over the last month and a half I've been working hard in and out of the game works been busy but its always good to reap the rewards of hard work :D. In the game I have been focusing a lot of my attention to fixing my games in the PvZ match up and id like to personally thank my Team mates from both SYF Gaming and my CTL Team GnR. I still have a lil bit of work to go but i feel i am closing in on finding the right build and style that suits my mindset and ability.

This weekend just gone 5th - 7th August was the weekend of the Pigsty cup #2. I was excited to see what this was going to be like after the 1st one looked like alot of fun from the stream. So when Insano asked who was keen to go and it was then that i seen alot of my teammates also were keen to go so it was a must do thing. So on the Friday Jessie (Rize) and I caught a plane into Sydney we arrived around 2:30 and awaited our Glorious manager Matt (INSANO) to arrive. Now for those who don't know QANTAS for some reason has a separate terminal at the Sydney airport. Jessie and i flew in with Jetstar so we were looking for where Matt would come in and well we couldnt find it haha. When Matt finally did land we found out was another terminal still couldn't find him lol keep in mind im pretty speshul haha thankfully Matt found us :D. Now we are 3 and on our way to Central station to find the 4th member of our party. When we got to central Matt said look for someone wearing something stripey :D and there he was the transformer zerg himself Jordan (Soundwave). After finding Jordan we then made our way to our Hotel in Parramatta where we would await our final 2 members of the travelling party. When we got to the hotel we realised it was across the road from an Irish pub haha :D Mass props to Matt he deffs picked the right hotel haha. At about 7pm we were all in Matt's room and we heard a knock on the door it was our 5th Member the one and only Big Andy (NaMeK) His thinking was exactly the same as ours so we headed to the pub for dinner and some Vitamin B and well Vitamin C for Jadron <3. After the first round of 4 beers and a cruiser we decided it was time for a parmy :D. After dinner we returned to the hotel and chilled in Matt's room whilst we waited for the final member of the travelling party to arrive at about 11pm there he was on the street the God of reapers moonlight in his hair also surprisingly not wearing green :O.

The next morning we awoke and caught the train to Lidcombe. This is where the glorious pigsty cup was happening. We arrived at about 11:30am and there were a few people already there. It took a while for everyone to show up but when they did we had a pretty big talent pool and famous sc2 Personalities there. Iaguz,Law,NXZ,Pigeon,Alopex,Livibee,GTR and all of my teammates :O so i knew it was going to be a pretty tough group stage for some of us and somehow deep down i knew i was going to be in the same group as the Gimli Terran Iaguz. My gut feeling was right when the groups were announced i had Iaguz in my group. Below is the picture of the groups now i know i missed two but they were added after and i forgot to take a photo and this is the only photo i could find




Pox advanced out his group 3-0, INSANO followed suit and set the standard also advancing w/o dropping a map Andy was next and advanced out of his group by only dropping one map to Redemption, Jordan was next up and unfortunately he couldn't advance out to be fair he did have a real cut throat group full of zvz and good players. Next up was my turn and my first opponent was Iaguz, I remember thinking to myself before the game started that i thought i had one chance to win and that was to get some big disruptor shots on the back of solid macro. Guz did consume 3/4 of a bottle of whiskey before our game so i thought it could happen. The game was a fair bit closer than i thought. He still won comfortably but i had few really nice holds and was able to hold my own i feel for a long time. Next up was a cool bloke named Seraphium now Sera had only been playing for 5 days IIRC so it wasn't a fair game but hey DTS are still fun right aha after that i advanced to the final game to play the loser of Iaguz and Fatality. I was able to catch the end of the game between the two terrans and it looked really close so i was super nervous heading into the last game, Iaguz was able to eventually get over the unknown French terran Fatality. So Fatality was my opponent im fairly confident in my PvT macro play so i was trying to get Apotheosis as the map but after vetos we were left with Frozen Temple. I was a little nervous so i sent a gate scout and realised pretty quickly i was being all-inned just needed to know how my response to most terran all ins is Stargate so i played what i know and to my luck it was a 1-1-1 push i was able to hold my natural with out probe loss and even though my gate count was low i was able to hold on and win the game. Going into the Cup i was just hoping to make it out of the groups :D so i was pumped that i did. Law was my opponent in the KO stages and i couldn't stand up to the ability of Law i was taken out quite comprehensively which was sad and good at the same time meant i was able to have more beers and watch my teammates fight to win it all. Next out was Myuu lost to Pigeon who hit a nice timing and eliminated Kevin from the Cup. Namek, Pox and Rize all made it to the top 5 but were unable to go further leaving Pigeon and Law to battle it out. Pigeon eventually got the job done after a great 30 minute or so macro game on Galactic Process.

Id like to thank PiG and Dot for hosting this amazing event made everyone feel comfortable and welcome was such a great environment and atmosphere. Was so good to be able to see the people from the scene i haven't seen in a while or ever was great to meet Iaguz, PiG, GTR and livibee for the first time and hopefully not the last. Shout out to all the Broaches over in the States the support in the twitch chat and on twitter was flattering Love you all and yes even you Picur you non broach you <3.



On the Sunday it was time to come home. We checked out early and went to get breakfast and sit down together one last time before we went home. Andy was first to go then Jordan. Matt had an hour or so before his flight, Jessie, Tony and myself had plenty of time to wait so we walked to an internet cafe chilled and played some sc2. Tony taught me how to proxy 3 rax haha so i had fun on ladder proxying every race haha with reapers :D. The time came for our flight home and to return to reality. I didn't want the weekend to end but all good things come to an end cant wait for next one and to see if i can be lucky and get time off again.
