Oh man, sounds like you had a blast. I went to Japan 10 years ago and I recognize some of these locations. I think the Studio Gibhli gift shop on the first floor was the most expensive gift store I've seen in my life. I remember the movies costing something ridiculous like 30-40 dollars.

the FFXIV thing would be cooler if I knew who signed it!

Did you go to the Hiroshima museum? That was such a tremendous experience for me when I went there.
