As it happens when TL was going public with this new view, i was writing a blog about how to listen to classical music, and amid the change the site went offline for 1/2 an hour, and i lost what i had written.

So lets talk about this new look. To me it seems more oriented toward cell phone users, it takes longer to scroll. I just changed my sidebar to bw only events again, since that is why i' m on here
I appreciate the effort they put but was happier with the other look. What do you think about it?

I wouldn't mind an option for the old 2000s overlay! That's one of the things that made TL unique for me.

Do you have a picture of how that 2000 overlay was? i would be curious i started using tl in 2008

Really not a big fan of changing something that was great, but it must be nice for the TL staff to have all sites using the same lay-out/coding.
It sucks that you lost your work, but imo you should have sucked it up, rewritten it and posted that instead.
You can already read most people's opinions in New teamliquid.net desgin anyway.

For sure hard to judge. Most of the time new layouts seem worse at first because you can't find things, browse easily, etc. Then overtime it either grows on you or you really decide you don't like it.

Hardest change right now is getting used to no red/yellow color scheme on new posts.

The new layout is absolutely terrible on my small monitor. I have 2 modes right now:
1. zoomed in: readable text, sidebars have disappeared.
2. zoomed out: access to sidebars, tiniest font ever.

I really hate these new "smart" layouts. I want my fixed width back.

Hmmm, I love the aesthetic look but would love the default text size to be 2-3 larger. At default zoom TL is hard on the eyes now.

Other than that it feels very pretty and modern. Very evolved.

It's hard to get used to the position of everything in the post area but that's only natural and we'll all get used to it over time.
